I think your over thinking and over analyzing things to much because Buffalo should be a contender in 7 years given that contract and term and most players want to be paid. He will get that term and money no where else. Its as simple as that.

And my point is that maybe maxing out his contract isn't the #1 priority to Callahan and getting to a team that is closer to a Cup is the #1 priority.

The Rangers are a playoff team, but they aren't one of those teams that most people expect to do well in the playoffs.

Maybe Callahan is turning down the Rangers offer because he'd rather go to LA or Chicago or Boston or Detroit.

Nobody knows what Callahan's thought process is.
