Interesting, I expect Gus to hit waivers, when they both clear, then trade them for eachother.

Edit: I've never been a big fan of McElhinney, but his numbers in 2014-2015 and 2013-2014 are both pretty good.

For sure, I'm not really confident he's any better then Gus, but may be worth a shot. Wouldn't be surprised if they let him pass though and try and trade Gus for him. Because if we demote Gus and mcelhinney doesn't work we're stuck with 2 veteran AHL goalies

Yup. I can't even fathom the logic behind his refusal to give McLellan literally any other backup other than Gustavsson.

I'd claim or trade for McElhinney. Halak too. ANYONE HALF DECENT.

I know we basically want anyone right now to replace the garbage dump that is Gustavsson and Curtis being free is a big deal, but let's be careful here - we don't need a good backup again until January 19 or so when the back-to-backs come up again and Curtis is one heck of a mediocre-to-awful option.

We knew the back up situation was tenuous at best back at the start of November. The fact that Gus has now cost us two games is pretty damning on Chia.

Exactly. We seriously cannot waste away points, every point matters.

We've wasted enough points, if we want to reach our goal we have to be serious about not giving away points we should get. That's what makes last nights loss so frustrating, that's a game we should have won.
