Thanks, guys, I will follow your suggestions :)

My current smartphone (HTC One S) sucks for good resolution pictures, I want to replace it soon. Open to suggestions.

Yes that lot is for the casino patrons. I don't know exactly when it will close, but, (and don't quote me on this) the Baccarat might be part of the new arena district in one of the buildings.

I've heard of those Nokia Windows phones...I'll check them out, thank you!

I found this article posted near the end of Feb. Perhaps it can help give you some phone options?

Do you work for PCL? Aren't they the contractor?
Also, as far as I know, the "plants" are usually purchased as modular chillers aren't they?

I go to grant Macewan university and I somewhat get to see the progress being made, but these pictures are awesome! It's gonna be really cool to put them all together as some kind of slide show. If you go through with that, you should try to contact the oilers about using it for opening night. I think that would be so cool to have your work being shown there

Thanks for these pictures. I have a couple questions as I am not from Edmonton but greatly interested in the development.

Is that a train station on the right hand side of the picture, and is it incorporated so it arrives inside the arena?
The red faced building, is that the casino they are going to tear down?

And please keep taking pictures to update us. Thanks again.

This is part of the North line LRT leading to Kingsway/Nait and eventually further off. This line is nearly finished and mostly just testing now and is scheduled to be open soon. It was not planned in conjunction with the arena as such but the line will be travelling right by and with a pedway that will connect to a station. I don't believe that what you see in the picture is part of the station (I could be wrong)

.
Literally all of Edmonton is hoping so. There's probably 200 people that virtually live there conditioned to pull levers and throw chips that might disagree.

In today's Slicknitty pictures, the casino is the in the 2nd picture, out of the view of the 1st picture at the bottom left. The station is the where the new line (going in this year) to NAIT comes out of the ground from Churchill station, it will not be connected underground is my understanding. The buildings in the first block at the top of the 1st picture are condos that went up in the last 10 years, they will be stay.

It actually is the station. You can see the roof there. It'll be a unique one for Edmonton as it's on a bit of an angle as the tracks come up out of the tunnel. The station is beautiful though.

Can't wait for the arena to clean up that area, bring in new business, and most importantly, push the bums further north!

Bravo Slicknitty this thread may become an all time great, my hat goes off to you on this project. However, I hope you know what you're getting into here. From this point on to 2016, you are not allowed to get a promotion, get fired, or change offices in any way, shape or form. No sick days or holidays allowed either.

Get ready to become a legend my friend, this may gain some national exposure when complete.

By the way, the camera is just fine, pics look great.

Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't sure on that part. Reason I didn't think that was a station was that the line was planned and implemented prior to the Arena. I had heard in the past the closest station was going to be a bit of a jaunt. Seems like that's not the case.

In anycase the North LRT line has unfortunately now been delayed until late 2014 opening due to signalling software problems.:(
