I'm actually kind of hoping not. We currently have a really high pitched goal horn, I'd prefer a lower pitched one, maybe like the Stars.

I hate the goal horn. Seems so much more annoying than other teams horns. Good thing we don't hear it much.

Personally though, I don't like goal horns in general.

I love ours, very unique and naturally a more annoying one annoys opposition more.

Plus of course all the nice memories of this one.

I'm a bit different...haha, quotable..

I prefer something like this to goal horns.

Fullscale war sirens. What could be more intimidating to opposition fearing a blizzard of goals. (a guy can dream)

ps NSFW. Obviously, its Black Sabbath w Ozzy.

I'm actually excited to see how the arena turns out as a fan of another team, looks like it'll be one of the best facilities in the entire NHL. Might have to travel and see it for myself one day. Although I wonder how much the beers are going to cost. :naughty:

They're talking it up to being the best facility on the continent. Really cant wait travel out West myself to see it.

Just to keep in mind that you might want to hold off on that a bit until completion of at least some of the plaza surrounding Wintergardens. The whole arena district is coming in at stages and with different parts complete 2017-2019. The full effect not seen probably till around 2019.

Although if you're just coming for the Arena I would hold off until tickets are a little easier to come by in 2017.

My own take is thinking the Arena will open somewhat unfinished in terms of interior/exterior finishings electronics. Probably be a more all in experience once everything is ramped up.

why so little action on the build today? barely anybody there, just a few people walking aimlessly around. Is today a civic or provincial holiday on AB?

^ Their lease is up in May so I would expect it to come down around June/July. They have been taking core samples already around the site, shouldn't be long now....

I'm curious as to what the general opinion is on the sound quality at Rexall for concerts. I've attended about a dozen shows there, and almost every single time it just seems like it's poorly mixed, with way too much treble and high end. It's like trying to blast music from a little stereo; the fidelity just goes to ****.

I assume Rogers will have the best possible audio equipment, and I think I recall mention of the building itself bring designed with concert acoustics in mind. But I'm curious if that's just common for shows in arenas. I've only ever seen one arena concert outside of Rexall: Rush at the Saddledome last summer. I was way up at the top, and the sound was very bass heavy.

Anyone know if any memorabilia from Rexall will be going on sale and when/where?

We're all going looting if the Oilers win the lottery.

But seriously, do sales like that usually sell cool things things other than the seats?

OK enough about where the Oilers live and what cars they drive. Consider this an official warning for all posters in this thread about taking this thread off topic.

After this, posters get removed again. I am absolutely sick of having to do this every couple of weeks.

600,000,000 was the cost but it did not include the kick back to the politician . They could not squeeze more money out of other source so they cut cost to the community arena . Now the politicians can get their money . It is how it works . Vote this way and get paid by Katz . Vote this way and get pay by someone else but hey what do a politician care about the community arena they aren't going there .

Awesome. That place is the worst building in the city. It can't go away fast enough.
