Agreed.
He may be an RFA next year, but with the struggles he's had over the past few seasons, who wants to even qualify him AKA give him a raise?
Not the type of risk Edmonton should be going for.
They're better off holding onto Hopkins, letting him walk in the off-season and finding a more cost effective player (or 2)

And we got plenty of time to find Laine one before selling him off for a rental top 6.

And btw, most of the things you EDM fans claim about Laine, mirrors RNH a lot...just sayin.

Well you've been listening to some delusional Oil fans.
Liane is inconsistent offensively, while Hopkins is incredibly consistent. I figure Hopkins is a consistent 50 point player when he isn't playing with Drai or McDavid.
Hopkins is awesome on the PK and no that doesn't justify him making 6M a season and Hopkins is a natural center, which is worth a lot more in the eyes of some people... but really how much more is it worth if you know the guy can't win a face-off to save his life?
Also, like Liane, Hopkins can't drive a line.
