Curious, I see a lot/some of fans talking about RHD needs, lets say all three pairings RHD.

Top pairing
2nd pairing
3rd pairing

RHD, who is available now and potentially by the TDL.

Savard available at 50%. So 1,75m$ for 1.5 years. Still effective at defending

Kovacevic also available. 1.5 years left at 750 000. Good 6th defenseman. Good defensively and plays pk

I don't see Savard available. He's needed to mentor the Habs young D. Maybe next year.

Kovacevic i can see being made available. Very cheap competent bottom pairing dman with an extra year on is contract.

Out of curiosity does Habs have one more retention spot available?

yes savard is only available at the right price.

I wouldn’t trade both Kovacevic and Savard.

Best case scenario is Allen and Kovacevic traded.

From Nashville:

2nd pairing: Barrie, Carrier, Fabbro

Fabbro has been paired with Josi but never given 1st pairing minutes. Doesnt really fit the style that Brunette wants to take the team so his minutes have been dropping. More of a stylistic clash instead of an indictment of results as he is still better defensively than Barrie or Schenn.

Barrie lots of books written about him here. Lots of offense. Not alot of defense. Still true.

Carrier our best overall 2nd pairing dman. Gets paired with Lauzon alot. Gets hard assignments and lots of defensive zone starts. Trotz likely prefers to keep this one

1 retention spot left.

I think Tampa will go after Savard and wouldn't be afraid to offer Gauthier or maybe even Howard.

I think Vancouver also has the means to acquire a Kovacevic or Carrier and will pull the trigger at some point.

Yes they still have one left. Both Savard and Allen could be the last potential retention spot.

Savard is the more enticing option since his return would be much better and Allen would be used only to dump his contract, which we need to do.

I figured if the Habs used it, it would be on Allen, less likely Savard
Tough to give up Savard when our young D are developing. They tried pairing Guhle / Barron and that was detrimental to both D's development. Savard is a calming influence in the backend and needed to help mentor the Habs D.

Habs posters are too enamored with picks and forget that development is a key aspect to a rebuild. Players like Savard are important to a rebuild and the Habs young D need him.

That said, if the offers are ridiculously stupidly high, then Hughes may have no choice.

I figured if the Habs used it, it would be on Allen, less likely Savard
One option (though it would cost the Jets dearly) is to dump Schmidt on the Habs with a massive sweetener in return for Savard. Though its remote. Schmidt is RHD?

Why are RHD so hard to come by compared to LHD? The disparity is odd to me. I shoot right by the way and am right-handed. I catch left.

Cody Ceci is available..
Wouldn't even cost a 4th as per Oilers board.

Tanev is available for sure. Top pairing defensively, 3rd pairing offensively. I also wonder if Weegar or Andersson could be available. I don't think they'd go for anything less than full value, but I wonder if they could be had.

Im right handed,

played hockey till early 20’s various levels, shoot left handed in hockey and golf. Catch left handed, throw right handed.
Is that the norm for righties? I played hockey as well up to tier 2 level (mid-teens). Never really paid attention to it. But i noticed that most of my teammates golfed with right-handed clubs like me.
