“He gets to the net from anywhere — you give him the puck in the neutral zone with speed and he’s very dangerous, very tenacious on the puck in the offensive zone,†Andersson said. “Even if the team loses the puck, he’s often the guy to win it back in the offensive zone and make something happen. He’s a little bit like Nyquist when he’s on the game. He chases the puck, wins it back and then makes something happen all of a sudden.â€
Andersson also weighed in on the slow adjustment to North America for prized Swedish prospect Calle Jarnkrok. “In some situations, he’s too easy to contain,†Andersson said. “If he had another 10 pounds on, he could break away a little easier and get more room for his skill and quick shot because he has a lot of good (offensive assets).†Andersson said a good summer of training will make a big difference. “Next year could be his year,†he said. “The way I see it, he’s one of the more talented prospects we have, but there’s work to be done, no doubt about it.â€
The 21-year-old forward’s success is a testament to his natural talent because he only started training his lower body this summer. According to Andersson, doctors had told Janmark to avoid it because of a knee injury he sustained when he was younger.
“From (ages) 16 to 20, he didn’t do all that stuff that every hockey player lives for in the summer,” Andersson said. “This is was his first summer with some kind of real training. Can you tell on the ice? A little bit. Does he need another summer or two? Yes, for sure.
I know the cliche is that hockey strength is core strength, but leg strength is a huge part too. I have to think it'll make him stronger on the puck and a little more explosive. He's already a good skater, so it ought to be interesting to watch. Also thought this was pretty crazy for a hockey player (regarding Janmark)
Kid's got his work cut out for him. But naturally he's supposed to be pretty fast, and he has a big frame already. Maybe once he gets his training up, he'll go an even higher level with his game.
Is it Ath-an-a (like hey or age)-zhoo or Ath-an-as-zhoo? Ath-an-uh-see-you?
or any of the other ones? There are some pretty funny highlights where the PBP guy just gave up on saying his name.

Paterson 35/37 tonight
He has really picked up his play since the wjc
I like that Mantha passed off the chance for an empty net goal. He very easily could have had it.
Pope 3 goals, 1 assist and 2nd star last night. 18+14=32 in 32 games.

Mostly agree with this. Athanasiou is quite high as is Glendening, in my mind. Pulkkinen could be higher, Callahan too.
Pulkkinen is kind of low to me. he's scoring well in a tough league.

Can't say I agree with these. I love Mantha and think he will be good but no way he sniffs the #1 spot for me. Not this year. These rankings look like they way to heavy on projections and not where the players are in their development.
For me, the only way I like to see those rankings is definitely with projections.
