Both those teams have the same owner today too, which is weird.

"3. Glow-puck. What a crazy thing to oppose. It is a very real fact that
hockey on television is harder to watch than in person because of puck
visibility problems. USA TV standards are low resolution because they
were set so early. Because of this, there are frames when the puck does
not even register. I think glow puck is a pretty clever fix until that
glorious day when we can have hi-def TV."

Toronto would be crazy to trade Damphousse and Marois for Sakic and Lindros(?)
-November 30, 1990
That's golden.
I see that Leafs fans still haven't changed today.

How many people out there have seen Dennis (Denis?) Savard of
the Chicago Blackhawks play? Is there anybody out there who
would agree that he possesses the finest fundamental skills
of any player in the NHL? Excuse me for being presumptious
but I think that given some work on his defensive game and
his acquisition of some Gretzky-like head skills, he could
surpass Gretzky as the league's virtuoso performer. Only
God and Gretzky knows what makes Gretzky go but whatever it
is, there must be a few more people capable of doing it in this
world.
People will be gouging their eyes out after seeing these new uniforms!
The black uniform is a crime! (IMHO). It has "PITTSBURGH" written
diagonally across it, just like....just like, well I can't even bring
myself to say it, but you get the idea.
The stripes on the uniform are a little too uncoventional for my taste.
Maybe we could kidnap Howard Baldwin and tattoo the old logo on his face?
Just kidding.

Also announced at the Montreal meetings is that former assistant coach
Alpo Suhonen (Don Cherry is gonna love it!) has returned to the Jets
organization. When Bob Murdoch won the coach of the year award in 1990,
it is widely believed that the actual great motivator of the team was
Suhonen, and his return to Finland following the 1989-90 season was
partially responsible for the Jets' fall the following year.

Ken Wregget for two 1sts? Wtf were Toronto thinking.....puts the Kessel trade into perspective I guess.
Wow. The term "journeyman winger" was being used in 1986!?
