On the subject of Rick Nash. He returned from injury in game #68--a 3-2 overtime loss to Detroit. He played the final 15 games of the regular season. The team went 7-5-3 in those final 15 games. Nash's contribution was 3 goals-0 assists 3 points. One goal vs. Boston was an empty netter. Over the 15 games he was +1 with 34 shots on goal (a 2.3 shots per game average).

In the first playoff game he had his first assist since coming back from injury. He was a -2 with 1 shot on goal.

Rick Nash throughout his career usually is well over 3 shots on goal avg. per game. Sometimes more than 4. The time recuperating from injury unlike some had hoped has not renewed him and has not benefitted his offensive production at all. If anything it's gotten worse.

It looks likely to me that Rick Nash is going to underwhelm again in the playoffs--he is not going to be an offensive leader against the Penguins---IMO he's probably begun his decline and IMO the Rangers should try to get rid of him this summer.
