I searched and found a few Q & A trivia threads, but I think it would be easier if there was a thread where random trivia facts could be posted for the amusement and education of board members. So, here is my random trivia to kick things off.
The record for the most one-game players used by a team in an NHL season is 4, by the Montreal Canadiens in 1942-43 (Ernie LaForce, Bobby Lee, Frank Mailley and Irving McGibbon), and the New York Rangers in 1943-44 (Henry Dyck, James Jamieson, Bob McDonald and Lloyd Mohns).
World War II had an impact on the NHL, with many top players enlisting, and therefore unable to play, resulting in teams using players who normally wouldn't have made it to the NHL in a "normal" season.
Who would like to post one of their favourite trivia facts?
