I think the Czechs have a chance, if Pavalec (or whoever starts) plays a decent game then it should be a fairly tight game. The Czechs fell apart because of bad goaltending in their first game against Sweden. I see this game as a Winnipeg Jets vs. Chicago Blackhawks type game. 70% chance the Americans win, 30% chance the less deep but still talented Czechs win. Hoping Hemsky has a big game, and lookout for Jagr who doesn't want this to be his last Olympic game.

30% sounds realistic, even the online gambling companies have 2,9-3,3:1 for Czech to go to semifinals.

Pavelec will start and his performance will be crucial for the result.

If the Americans score early, it might turn into a massacre, like the 7-1 against Slovakia. If we manage to keep it scoreless for a while or even go 1-0 up, it may become an interesting game. The US are massive favourites, but favourites don't always win.

I think the US domination tour continues.
from what I've seen from both teams the only chance CZE has is when they can capitalize on Browns stupidity.

Assuming the U.S. wins this, would their game on Friday likely be at noon eastern again?

Poor Justin Faulk

And pretty surprising to me. Everything I heard/read coming out of Bylsma's mouth regarding Faulk sounded like a man crush, at least hockey man crush. And then he doesn't even play him as 7th vs Slovenia.

Well maybe he wants to keep him healthy and trade for him or something

It's disappointing Faulk doesn't get to play.

As far as the game goes though, I'm pretty confident. Bylsma continues to ice a great forward group but a bizarre defence. Hopefully we can jump on them early and bury them in the first little bit. Longer it stays close, better advantage to the Czechs.

It's been speculated but not confirmed to my knowledge. If Russia makes the semis and the other game is USA-Canada, it is almost certain Russia will be the early game.
