:dunno:

You try having a Jack Adams trophy winning coach tell you that you can "rot in the minors for all I care" and play your game after that.

Give him a few years in Columbus where he'll get a taste of the big league. He leads the Crunch in points at the moment so it's not like he's gone down the crapper for good.

....
I dont hear enough on Arx, but the Hawks still protect him in the waiver draft and he is 28. Is he worth keeping?

He had problems with his mental attitude in the national team and is actually not a member. his stats: in 28 games(NLA) 9 goals and 19 assists :28 p.

Connolly was a big disappointment long before his concussion.Anyone know how well he's playing in europe?A less physical league should benefit him.

The most recent stats I've seen have him at 16GP 8G 3A 11PTS 14PIMS.

Fernholm?
Is that a joke?
Fernholm has played extremely well in the SEL last year, and now that his injury problems seem behind him, his big upside has many scouts drooling.
Fernholm could be one of the steals of his draft year.

Can't see Daniel Fernholm as a bust yet. Lars Jonsson is playing better and better and is currently selected to play for Swedens A-Team in Rosno Cup. Other wise, most of those swedes haven't liven up to their potential.

I've given up on Ottoson and Arto Tukio, realize that neither's going to come over and contribute.Ottoson because he doesn't want to and little Tukio because other defensive prospects have moved ahead of him on the depth chart.

I've given up on Justin Mapletoft (though I was never one that counted him for offense)...seems like he went from 2nd line center, captain-material, stellar defensive forward to 4th line fill-in, attitude problems galore and lackadaisical work in his own zone.

It's a shame.

Dan Blackburn (NY ruined him like they do to most prospects)

blackburn's career and potential is in question because of an injury, not anything the rangers did to him. he got hurt working out and getting ready for the next season...rangers had nothing to do with it.

Agree on both.

Ottosson was excelletn in the World Champs som season ago but haven't reached that status ever after. He had some offers from Islanders but turned them down as he thought they weren't serious. Now he'll never come over.

Arto Tukio is currently 7th defenseman in Frölunda since Sami Salo arrived. He plays, but sees limited ice-time and is occasionally used as forward when forwards are injuried. He has to step up his game a lot to be a NHL defender.

Andrei Medvedev... for obvious reasons... yea he's a competitor but his attitude towards conditioning etc will never shake with Sutter

I'll probably take heat on this one - Yuri Trubachev... i was so optimistic after watching his play at the world jrs. He's going to be an very good hockey player. But wont be an NHL'er. In fact, I'm not sure if he will ever come to N. America.

Largest reason for the doubts in these russians is the fact the flames don't have their own farm team yet in the AHL to let these euros come over a develop. That could all change next season. BUT, i have lost alot of optimism and hope in both of these players.

Jiri Novotny: Remember the promising potential of this 21st overall 2001 Sabres pick? Didn't think so. 2+17=19 points, -17 in 65 AHL games.

Technically not a prospect, but I've given up on Brian Campbell becoming anything more than an average powerplay specialist, though his play in Finland this year is a bit encouraging.

I still haven't given up on Artem Kriukov, though. He would have been signed for the AHL last season but the Sabres couldn't get him out of his contract in Russia.

Blackburn will be ok.He's recovered from his injury and while it obviously will set his developement back a year or 2 he has the right attitude and self-confidence to make it back and have a solid career.
Not sure it will be with the rangers but somebody will give him a shot and i'm betting Dan makes them feel good about their decision.

thanks for the info.Getting back on the ice and showing he's over the concussion problems, should be a confidence booster for Connolly.

It's a shame.

I've heard the rumors about his sulking after being demoted.

Mapletoft's out of waiver options,so he'll either prove himself with the nyi when the lockout ends or they'll move him, making room for other forward prospects.

Shvidki is off the radar and no longer counts.
Weiss, Krajicek, and Olson.

Is it too late to replace weiss w/ ruutu?
wow, 2001 was one mighty overrated draft.

Has anyone given up on Kvasha yet?

Fedor Fedorov.

Too bad that he's wasting so much talent (Fedorov). It's a real shame.

I'll get into this and say Ray Emery. Sure he might not be a 'bust' yet, but he will be. Positionally he's just terrible, technique isn't good and his mental game rivals Dan Cloutier.
