If they retained 50 percent but took on andersens salary they are still spending 10 mil on a goalie, now have a weaker goalie...to gain 2nd round draft pick?

Have you even thought your proposal through!?
Pretty obvious the point of trading Price is to remove the person that stops the team from tanking, like the Kessel trade, so you aren't always trading for good value

But obviously his proposal was a joke

I did correct it, I said Price did it with Tokarski.
In case you missed the point Price has been lauded as this great goaltender when he is interchangeable with about 6-8 premier level goalies most of which have a better playoff pedigree.

He has a Hart he earned his praise. Thing is you dont need an elite goalie to win if you have a good set of forwards and defensemen, unfortunately for Price its hard to really say Montreal had a lot of those during Price's tenure. One man doesnt make a team, Crosby was getting ripped to shreads for not making the finals from 2010-15 hard to fault the habs shortcommings on Price when MB has really been a below average gm. Price has been a tad bit overrated and his play has also made people pencil in the Habs as serious cup contenders for the past few years despite them never even having close to the same kind of depth as those Chicago and LA teams had in the same time period (for instance Gallagher would have been the 3rd best RW for Chicago with Kane and a peak Marian Hossa)

The Habs just never had the the rest of the team built well considering it was basically Pacioretty, Subban, Markov, Plekanec, Gally, and Chucky for anyone that was really important, a few of those forwards werent even major impact players from 2010-15 either. They had holes from the very begining for their window
