He was, frankly, f***ing awesome tonight. I would love more finish from him, but he was all over the Flames created a ton of turnovers and was probably the best skater on the ice tonight.
100% for sure. Hell of a game by the kid, and they really did play him in all situations. This game gave the coaches a good idea of how they can give him more TOI.

Flames ice their starting lineup, Oilers ice their B lineup and Holloway is the best forward on the ice. For either club. Think about how mind numbingly bad that is for Flames digesting this one tonight.

its indisputable, Holloway was the best and most consistent and dangerous forward tonight.

Flames broadcast several times talking about our big D, respecting it, and we have our top 4 D not even in the lineup.

This is good times.

Just got home.

How did that Cornohlio Coranathole or whatever play for CGY?

Keep hearing he has a Brett Hull release
Coronado was invisible like the whole Flames offense was. Really slim pickings to cheer for on that squad. The funny thing is they think Coronado is making the Flames. The hilarious thing is they are probably right. In Calgary its trying to find 20 players that even might look like they can play.

Flames are old, bad, and have weak prospects. Flames only getting worse.

The funniest thing is they’re dumb enough to think this slew of mediocre prospects are going to do anything.

It will probably take until about Halloween for those idiots to realize that Sutter not being mean to them anymore doesn’t magically give this crop of shitty players talent. Either that or we’ll have to hear about how hard it is to learn Huska’s system until February.

With the hilarity of that ending dying down, just a few thoughts.

- Holloway is easily the best offensive forward of this bunch. If he was on a team with less top six depth, he'd already be getting reps on a second line somewhere due to his ability to skate with the puck. Still has pretty limited hands though as he doesn't appear to have that extra touch that separates the stars from the plugs, but just have to look over to Foegele to see the niche he can fill if those never catch up.
- Lavorie looks like a completely different player this preseason. He used to play a really immature game where he stood around waiting to get setup, now he actually backchecks and stays in motion moving towards defensively important spots on the ice when he doesn't have the puck. I think he has a chance to get some time in Edmonton.
- Bourgault is clearly a talented player with a decent amount of hockey sense, but he still looks kind of small and at times rather slow even at a preseason level. He still doesn't look ready for the NHL yet, and I hope he starts to put it together at the AHL level this year.

I’m hoping they sign Lindholm for 8 years at some crazy number over 10mil. He’s the best Flame but he’s not gonna be that good for 8 years. Hurry up and spend all your cap and don’t forget to trade your first round picks

Campbell playing a .910 SV% this year means we're probably winning the President's Trophy.

So true. 21-9 with a 0.888. Probably would have been 29-1 with a 0.910.

Weird stat, I was curious how many goalies had a 2:1 or better record with a sav % like that or worse with 30+ games. Since 2000, only 3 times, and 2 of them were last season

Bizarre. Something in the water in Edmonton and Seattle last year.

With a .910 that would have saved 23 GAs last year. That would have moved us from 17th in the league to 12th and had the second best goal differential in the league only behind the bruins. That doesnt even factor in having Ekholm for a full season.
