Will the Jets give the opportunity for Heinola to take the next step after a couple of years now? If not, why not just trade him for something...

Has Nikkanen shown anything that makes anyone in here believe he will ever become a fourth liner in the NHL?

Does Kupari have a chance to take a spot as a top9 immediately?
I'm going to guess that you're a Finn

Heinola likely doesn't get a chance without some trades or injuries. Bowness seems to like him a lot though so hopefully he can be fit in.

Nikkanen is amazing defensively in the AHL but not particularly effective offensively. I mentioned recently that I like his chances of making the NHL more than Torgersson, but unless he he starts putting up some numbers it would probably just be as a defensive specialist.

Kupari likely doesn't get a top 9 spot to start, but he'll actually have some competent linemates on the 4th, which is something the Jets haven't had since the playoff run.

Gonna be tough for Heinola to make it unless we trade a D before camp

Nikkanen I haven't seen much of so I'll let others chime in.

Kupari is probably 4th line unless he has really good chemistry with Lowry in camp - outside chance he could play wing in the top 6 if they want to spread out our depth across all lines

Isn't that what this global warming thing is about, to make Winnipeg more tolerable for fickle hockey players...:dunno:

Except I think it's backfiring. We get slightly warmer temperatures and more snowfall it seems. Something I like to call the Snowpocalypse

Perfetti will likely be here today or tomorrow. His Instagram page had summer close out post with him stating next up is Winnipeg.

Pretty damn good roster for a young stars imo.

Good forwards and goalies, defense is a little suspect. Excited to see how Salomonsson shows against his age group after playing against men all last year.

In general? Or due to him not showing up in the young stars?

If it's the latter, I wouldn't read into that as he's likely focusing on getting ready for TC and trying to grab a roster spot.

I think there is something in the CBA where they can only make you attend so many of them. He's going into his 4th pro year, he has no need for the tournament. Heinola also isn't there for similar reasons.

Is that based on the rookie camp roster or something else?
No, wasn't expecting him on the rookie camp roster without a contract. It's just not a contract that needs much negotiation. Seems like it should be done already unless he asked for a trade or the Jets are looking to trade him because there aren't any spots for him and they don't feel like he'll clear waivers.

Gotcha. My guess is they are arguing one vs. Two way. That can make a big difference if he somehow clears waivers.

This would be my guess as well. A 2 way offer is permitted for him based on games played and waiver requirements. Again my guess, but in Chevy's eyes the QO is the offer and no need to discuss further for a D-Man who probably is going into camp 9/10 on the depth chart.
