OV - most prestigious career, best goal scorer of all time
Crosby - 3 cups/conn smythes, ppg seasons, overall one of the most complete players of all time

Malkin - insanely high peak, 3 cups, 36 point conn smythe
Kane - most likely the best american player of all time, clutch in playoffs, 3 cups, conn smythe

Stamkos - 60 goal scorer, career ppg player, captained team to 2 cups and 3 finals appearances in a row (yes he was injured for one of them)
Kopitar - 2 cups, one of the best defensive forwards of his generation

Giroux - heart and soul player, high peak and good playoff performer
Pavelski - got better as he aged, incredibly good at deflecting the puck, consistent
Backstrom - elite playmaker in his prime, 100 point season but dropped off as he aged
Tavares - scored the goal that sent the Leafs to the 2nd round for the first time in 20 years, consistent near ppg career overall

the last 4 are pretty interchangeable imo
That was a shot from a bad position that would have missed the net by two feet if it hadn't bounced in off a defender's skate.

pssssssssssssssst

lol

Malkin has played 228 less games AND still has 83 more points. I'm pretty sure if you can take 3 seasons off and still outscore someone by a full season point total, you've had a better career.
83 points isn't much more considering Malkin has played with Crosby his entire career and isn't even 1/4 as good defensively as Kopitar.

Malkin's numbers are significantly higher with Crosby out of the lineup. If anything his numbers are diminished slightly playing on the same team as Crosby and not being "the guy".

Think of it this way. McDavid plays 65 games and puts up 38+82 for 120 points (1.84ppg). Kucherov plays 82 and puts up 52+85 for 137 points (1.67 ppg).
That’s a bad analogy though. Why would you think of it that way? You make it seem as though people are showing Crosby as scoring more because of so many games missed when you fill in the blanks and you suggest you can’t get credit for missed games. He has more career points period, he’s 45 pts up on Ovechkin even with the 15o game difference and you have to think that 45 point lead will only grow at this point.

If you are doing a single season comparison , rather than showing OV as having a 10-15 pt lead, but worse PPG stat, it would actually be more realistic to show Crosby with 91pts in 71 games and OV with 89pts in 82 games.
