It looked clean to me live so I can somewhat understand how the ref missed it

I think that’s a case where VAR should send the official to the monitor. He clearly missed what happened give he didn’t even call a foul, so give him a second look to confirm. Should only take a few seconds and the game is stopped anyway.

The monitor should be used for more than just a rubber stamp that it’s a red, but for the official to be able to make an informed choice on a play he clearly missed.
