Honestly, really good trade for both. Barbashev more value going forward than Smith, and Pittsburgh gets current talent for (almost) free.

Come on now. Karlsson was the guy. He was the C in Cassidy’s system. Smith wasn’t garbage like some say but he didn’t make a difference. Barabshev did.He was part of their shutdown line with Karlsson. Barbashev had a nice playoff run next to Eichel and Marchessault, but banking on him repeating that performance would be a mistake.
