Bonino actually does have some left in the tank. He can play anywhere from 1st line to 4th line as long as he isn't relied upon as the F1 (top line obviously only if the team is absolutely decimated with injuries). Guy is a winner. Very professional player, seems like an excellent person in the locker room. He really does give a shit, even with the Sharks being bottom-dwellers.

Because Hextal is worthless as a GM. He has no idea on what current talent is and no understanding of the cap. He was anti Pens as a flyer player and remains anti pens as their GM
Good lord. That's a yikes.

First line? Lol. If bonino is on anyone's first line, that entire franchise needs to fire everyone.

He likely means that Bonino can do a reasonable job matching up against anyone if he has speedy guys with him to handle the forecheck.
And with DOC, Poehling, Archibald… that at least should be there.
Doc-Bones-Rust would be the best bet for a third line that would work vs whatever TF Sully thinks Carter is at 3C.

Has Sund given any indication he intends to sign an NHL contract?

Remember him having a nice WC tournament for Finland a couple summers ago. Not sure how his game will translate to North America.

Yep. Good to have him back. I know one thing regardless of his age is Bonino will leave it all out on the ice for this team.

With the 2020s version of Mike Sullivan in charge, the Penguins are extremely unlikely to win a playoff series even if they load up like BOS. Hextall's main mistake (assuming the owners would allow it) is not firing the coach, everything else pales in comparison.
I’ve been saying this for years but the pens kept heating up late then suddenly he’s a top coach again

He really is a great coach but he’s probably been there too long.
