Crosby had a stretch of 30 games this year with only 5 goals.
From when til when? I just looked I don't see a 30 game stretch with only 5 goals.

you're wasting your time.
the guy has already been called out on his hamfisted use of stats and shown to be wrong already, it doesn't seem to sink in or do any good.
I was thinking about this the other day and really it's kind of true/sad.
Kessel is the leafs best player, or touted to be such anyway.
However if you look around the league, I think outside of New Jersey, Buffalo, and MAYBE Arizona, no team would even THINK about trading their "best player" 1 for 1 with Toronto for Kessel.
Kessel has a great offensive skill-set but brings absolutely ZERO to the table in way of physical play and defensive acumen. He could serve well as a secondary guy on a really good team, but him being asked to be the #1 guy here in Toronto has exposed him for the one-dimensional, mediocre player he is.
Sure, a guy like Patrick Kane plays a similar style, and has had success on Chicago. However Chicago also features Toews, Sharp, Hossa, Shaw, Saad, etc. Who all play very responsible two way games and allow for Kane to flourish as a scoring specialist.
Sucks because I like Phil alot but I think he should be traded away at the draft
No, I'm not comparing the two over the course of their careers. Kessel is Kessel. But at the peak of his powers, he's a phenomenal player. The fact that he's such an underachiever makes him that much more disappointing.

You'll have to help him out, he's not great with counting.http://hfboards.mandatory.com/showthread.php?t=1809665&highlight=crosby
Just saw the thread on the main board a while back when he was going through a huge goal scoring slump.

October 30th through January 13th. 5 goals over 31 games.
haha love it. The amount of information people completely pull out of their ***** on forums in hilarious. (him not you of course).
If by called out you mean easy tried to spin some BS stats to "prove" me wrong, yes thats what happened
I don't think anyone can deny Kessel's scoring ability or the fact that he goes on tears . The problem is when he gets in a funk and can't seem to lift himself out of it, and no one else steps up to the plate to aid in that or scoring for the team.
He's not a leader, seems he needs someone to lead him. He hasn't had that in the time he's been here, to be fair.
From that Wilson interview, I think you can infer that not only does Kessel go into slumps, he drags his teammates down with him. That doesn't mean guys riding on his coattails also stop producing, it means his attitude and approach to the game is so mercurial, so up and down that he can throw others off their game and put everyone on emotional eggshells. How else does a team lose one game coming off a 10-1 run to basically mirroring that?
That's one of the dumbest things I've read here. How else? You really think there is no other possible explanation for the teams horrible play then "it's all Kessel's fault"?
Try thinking a little bit harder. I'm sure you can come up with some more ideas if you try.
