I was going to vote Coffey. Then I saw that someone bumped this thread because Karlsson has "fallen off a cliff". In a season where he's on pace for 60 points and +20 with outstanding fancy stats at 33 years old. So if that is Karlsson falling off a cliff he's clearly better than Coffey.
As good as a 60 point season with good underlying numbers is, it is a step down from a 100 point season.

And go ahead and take a look at what Coffey did at the age of 33. It was arguably the best overall season Coffey had in his career. Led in scoring a Redwings team with peak Federov, prime Yzerman. His pace over a full season was 26-80-106. Was their overall best player.

What's with this if Karlsson played Gretzky, Mario etc?

Karlsson has always been the guy who plays better when he's the best player on the team

1984-1985 is definitely Coffey's best overall season, as well as best playoffs.

But yes - his age 33 season was extremely strong too.

Yea, but that Coffey season was also a bit of an outlier compared to his surrounding seasons just like Karlsson’s last year was. Though I agree that if this is “falling off a cliff”, it doesn’t mean he’s better than Coffey necessarily

It wasn't as much of an outlier as Karlsson's year was.

EK had 22, 35, 101, and pacing for 60 points this year. PPG of 0.42, 0.71, 1.23, 0.70.

The seasons for Coffey surrounding 1995 are: 87, 77, 58, and 74 points. PPG of 1.09, 0.96, 1.29, 0.97.

The reason I brought up Coffey's age 33 season was that in post #350 inthewings stated that this aged 33 season for Karlsson shows he was miles better than Coffey. In reality Coffey put up a much better age 33 year than Karlsson is on track to.
