This team isn’t going anywhere with the forward group we have past Barkov, Huberdeau, Trocheck and Dadonov.
Sure, and they weren't going anywhere in 2016 because there was nothing past Barkov, Huberdeau, Trocheck and Jagr. But due to extremely strong defense Florida was able to win games. You said "The point is, we have a scoring issue" well if being 15th in goals per game is an issue, what would you call being 31st in goals against? Where are your posts about Matheson and Pysyk? Their underlying numbers are horrendous. Bjugstad's are good. It's just really bizarre to me. I actually liked Pysyk last year but he's undeniably been one of the the worst dmen in the league this year, he hemorrhages goals against, Florida never has the puck when he's on the ice, gives up a bunch of high danger scoring chances. Shouldn't discussion be about players like him? Because I know I want him gone way more than Nick Bjugstad right now.

Everyone knows Pysyk is playing terrible. What do we need to discuss? Matheson has been bad too and has been a topic of a lot of conversation. He's extremely inconsistent and signed to an unnecessary contract. Nobody really disagrees which is why it's not talked about.

Our offense at 15th is not telling because we are too inconsistent offensively with no depth.

Nick is also a topic of convo because he was protected over other guys who should be here and we'd have a better team.

We also had the number 8 ranked offense the magical stanley cup year

Here we go again with the "extremely strong defense" we had in 2015-16.

And that's where I end it.

So were Pysyk and Petrovic.

And Pysyk has been way worse than Bjugstad.

They haven't been good either, but at least Pysyk has a history of being consistently good, so I'm willing to give him a chance to sort things out, still hasn't played the magic Tallon 300 games yet. Bjugstad was good for about a season and it's been a few years since then.

Yep, that's where it ended. How is our defense doing this season? Or even last season!

Our defense in the title winning division was not perfect, but it was better than what we are currently icing.

No, more like our goaltending was better than what we're currently icing. Both guys had like career years.

Nice to see you finally admit it on here. After already mentioning Bjugstad 100 times! ;)

D-men trigger happy early. I'd like to erase that season from my memory completely, but it reminds me of last year.

Hunt is faster than I thought, also takes and gives hits. I don't know if he's going to get a ton of points but he's on the ice a lot when we get PP.

Hunt - McCann - Brickley/Sceviour would be a good 3rd line to try. Vrbata can slump more on the 4th line.

Maybe I was being too specific listing them.

Rather, he's a non-factor, imo. He doesn't hit, he isn't defensively reliable, he isn't clutch, isn't a shootout specialist, can't kill penalties, isn't a playmaker, doesn't make anyone around him better, doesn't shut down the opposing teams, isn't dominating physically. What does he do well?

He's just one of those guys who will have a nice career and collect money being a guy who can score here and there and nothing else. We need people who bring value in different areas be it a PK specialist, a center who hits people and is defensively responsible, etc.

With his skating ability and size he should be a menace to play against but he's the softest player per inch and pound in the league.
I emphatically agree. This team needs soldiers, good vets, guys you win with, specialists, glue guys at all positions F/D/G.
