Honestly downtown FTL seems like the best place for a new arena.

That was one of the choices for fans to vote on before they decided on Sunrise. I lived in Coral Springs at the time, so for my own benefit, I thought Sunrise would be a great choice to jump on right on the Sawgrass as I do now and I'm there in 15-20 minutes. However, years later, I'm in agreement that Downtown Fort Lauderdale would have been a much more centralized location for more of the population coming from the north or south and would attract more fans due to nightlife nearby. Sure. Traffic would have been a much bigger issue, but I think attendance and popularity down here would be slightly better if it were chosen originally.
