Give Panarin Lindholm and Tkachuk as linemates and put him in the Pacific division and watch his production go up
96 points in 75 games which is on pace for way over 100 pts is an awful season for Panarin ? Rangers fans truly got too damn demandingPanarin just had an awful season by his standards and Gaudreau just had his peak season. Not entirely fair. Gaudreau played with another 100 point player in Tkachuk too. Panarin at his peak was putting up 100+ with Strome and Blackwell/Fast
Panarin led the league in even strength points during his Hart nominee season with a 5 point gap on 2nd place. This is when he was playing with Ryan Strome and Jesper FastPanarin is a PP player, Gaudreau is one of the best 5v5 players in the league, so.
Gaudreau has outscored Panarin 3 of the last 5 years.Last 3 years:
Panarin 186 games, 249 points + 71. pace of 110 points per 82 games
Gaudreau 208 games, 222 points + 56. Pace of 88 points over 82 games
Gaudreau just had the better seasons, but he's been widely inconsistent year to year. Panarin just had 3 straight rock solid seasons.
Panarin is better. Maybe if Gaudreau can repeat 2 years in a row you say him, but until proven otherwise, this is Panarin

All of a sudden?Gaudreau is getting underrated somehow all of a sudden… must be a lot of haters of the Blue Jackets
All of a sudden?
Dude has been grossly underrated since before he was drafted.
Scored 36g 80p as a college junior and people still didn't think he'd be anything more than a 30 point PP specialist. To be fair he wasn't really a top prospect at the time

Yes, I'm sure the motives behind the voting is that there are more haters of the blue jackets than there are of the rangers. /s LmaoGaudreau is getting underrated somehow all of a sudden… must be a lot of haters of the Blue Jackets
Johnny was top 3 this year and should have won the HartIf I had one more year with both I think I'm take Panarin. Could be trending in the other direction though.
I don't love the poll either. At their peak 3 years ago Panarin was top 3 in the NHL. I don't think Johnny ever gets there. Don't even think he will ever be top 10. Today these two are a lot closer.
Yes.Gaudreau has also outscored Auston Matthews 3 of the last 5 years. Are you going to use that to claim he's better than Matthews?
Yeah but Panarin's 30 which means he's on a steep decline, so that season which has happened once in his career is normal now.He wasn’t his normal self this year, but that has historically not been true whatsoever. Over the last five seasons, Panarin is 4th in the league in 5v5 points with 246. Gaudreau is 7th with 238, but in 24 more games. Over that same time frame, Panarin is 5th in 5v5 P/60 with 2.74. Gaudreau is 9th at 2.62 (among those with 4000 minutes). Panarin also has a 61% GF%, which is 5th in the league over that time frame (again with 4000 minutes). Gaudreau’s 58.5% GF% is at 16th. Both have been elite 5v5 players for their careers.
