Trust me I feel the pain, not in regards to hockey. But another team in my city, the Pittsburgh Pirates. Which basically the owners of the Senators and Pirates are clones of each other.

if they wanted money they should have made the playoffs. Other than zib they all played crap hockey for points and getting paid during the contract year with zero interest in winning

You are correct. He had one season remaining on his contract.

However I think my point still stands somewhat as the Sens knew he needed a new contract in a year and moved him for a cost controlled player in Brassard
