I’m guessing KGN is the rival? :)
The Fronts will return plenty, and likely in a 4-6 grouping with Hamilton & NB at the deadline. They should be sellers though.
Ottawa, Oshawa & Niagara should be top 3

Don’t forget about Barrie. They are very young in many areas as well.

I agree about Kingston, but it will depend on a few things for them. If Vilardi returns they will probably trade him to recoup what they gave up last year. He is my #1 target for the 67’s. So, it will spend on how far they go selling to recoup assets.

To me, it is Oshawa, Niagara, Ottawa, and Barrie and Hamilton as the early front runners for the east. Hamilton returns a lot as well but they may sell a little at the deadline.

Just looking at the NHL Draft

I think Clarke or Bahl will go to Calgary. I expect them to be mid 2nd round.

Robertson and Rippon late 3rd or early 4th

Bitten I think might get drafted before Hoeschler a size thing

Hoeschler late draft pick maybe 5th round

Anyone else have thoughts

Bahl - mid 2nd
Clark - 3rd- 4th (wasted 2nd half with Hoelscher and Keating)
Rippon - 5th-6th

Robertson and Bitten may sneak in there very late in the draft. I am not sure Hoelscher had enough exposure late in the season to get on the radar. It is not like his line produced a lot of offense. He showed on the defensive side of the puck well but scouts need to have a lot of viewings to rate defense high enough to draft.

When the final rankings come out, I think you will see a lot of dropping for 67’s players...especial;y Robertson and Bitten. I think those two were rated a little aggressively at the mid-term.

You also need to remember this is a Nrth American skater ranking. The Euro’s this year are very strong. Once they get mixed in, it will shuffle the deck quite a bit.

I think Barrie will be good too; but after Christmas, because they likely will have two new imports, four 16 yr olds, and a new starting G.

Agree...aside from Bahl,Clark and Rippon I’d be very surprised to see anyone else go. Maayyybe....a team takes a flyer on Robs in the 7th but he just has too many flaws to go any earlier imo.
As for Hoels defensive game. It’s great but low producing jr kids don’t tend to get drafted based on their defensive prowess. Up at the next level those roles are most often filled by a high-ish producing jr players who’ve had to adapt their game and become defensive specialists in order to stay in the league

They’ll have a strong nucleus with kids like Nihznikov and Suzuki up front. Svechnikov will probably make the jump right away to the NHL but if he doesn’t they can’t send him to the minors so it is NHL, OHL or Russia for him. I say NHL though. They do lose a lot of players though so they will probably end up as a middling team unless Svechnikov is returned.

are you talking about the Vees. The Fronts have nothing coming back.

They will lose
Helvig
nichols
Jones
Pu
vilardiMurray and
Day.

Rasanen can go to Euro an play for cash

The OA will be
Field
cranford
hiotchkiss or
Byrne

If Nyman does not get drafted it would not surprise me to see him go back to Europe to either the KHL or other pro leagues to play.

You are3 the only person I know that thinks Kingston will compete next year. Check with the Kingston fans MisterDb will confirm they are looking weak next few years.

They'll have Suzuki but no Nizhnikov - he was dealt to Sudbury this past year.

I believe KGN will get enough points by January to finish as a playoff team. Bonello (0.904 SV%) in a dozen games and a half season of practicing with great shooters will be fine in Varaday’s defensive system. The D with Paquette, Brahaney, Ali, Brand, Byrne, and 1st pick J.Murry is good. Hotchkiss, Burnie, & Cranbrook will be a plus line. Neumann and Robertson should light it up next season. Sprinkle in a couple of rookie F from the past two drafts, and some warm bodies from teams looking to make room for high picks; and, the Fronts will be fine early.

I really liked their draft this year and really hope that no matter who they acquire, they hold onto Tolnai as a building block. Ambrosio and Peterson were both top 10 overall rated players according to one site- I love the HR swings there.

The big goalie Will Cranley looks like he has good potential and seems very excited to be a 67.

You would have to think that our two Americans picked in the fourth round- Ambrosio and Bradley must at least be willing to consider Ottawa for them to be tapped at that point. Getting either of them signed after development camp would be a good coup.

Crete reminds me of Quinn- HEO AAA rookie of the year this year and a 'fast riser' according to scouts. Maggio seems like a potential HR pick, as he has great offensive flair and a late birthday.
More I think about it I find it odd that Ambrosio and Bradley were taken before Peterson who arguably was top five talent in draft. Even if he says he's ncaa bound I'm shocked nobody picked him first 6 rounds. Teams like London, Kitchener, Windsor usually will take these guys earlier...doesn't quite add up.

I had thought about that too. What my assumption was that Peterson told them flat out he has ZERO intention of playing OHL so he slipped down further than would be normal. With the other two, there must have been a crack of hope.

I wouldn’t read into it too much. I am simply of the feeling that if we manage to get one singed at any time during their junior age window, it will be a coup.

Line change: OSEG sports president Jeff Hunt stepping down | Ottawa Business Journal

Jeff Hunt to step down as OSEG President of Sports after the 2018 CFL Season to pursue other interests.

This will be interesting. It states in the articles that OSEG has lost $27mil since the beginning. Clearly they need other minds in place to spark interest in the 67’s, for example, as well as other events and overall exposure to the development.

We shall see what transpires over the coming year. It will be interesting. This would mean that Hunt is stepping away from the 67’s pretty much right now as he won’t be in place to finish next season.

I had heard he was staying on as Alt Governor of the Fury and Governor of the 67's and staying on the board of directors after the football season is over.

You would have to think that teams would list out the probabilities of players coming over to the OHL and balancing that risk with the upside of the pick. Same deal as last year when Austen Swankler came to camp but left without signing and committed to college shortly thereafter, all the team can ask is for these guys to give them a shot.

Does anybody know when the Rookie camp will take place? That roster should give us a decent idea as to who would be open to the OHL.

It’s way too early to really look at stuff like this. Generally speaking, it isn’t out of whack but a lot can change between now and opening night. The 67’s have the assets and returning players to easily win the East next year with two strategic additions. Without those additions, they won’t win the East and may not even get home ice advantage in the playoffs. So, there could be significant swings in predictions.

From 67's website (Draft Day Photo Essay): "Next up for the newest crop of Ottawa 67's is the club's annual development camp, which opens Friday, April 13."

Why is it so hard for the 67s to give out this type of information the fans want to know.

Just some more small stuff that all adds up to piss fans off.
I hear you man, they don't do much to engage the fans! You would think it wouldn't be very difficult.
