I would do 1st+ fox for Kane, but the first wouldn't be until 2019

Wait, seriously?

Deal!

Montreal says 1st + Mete + Carr. By Montreal, I mean this Montreal fan.

Deal!

Flames don't have a 18 1st, or even a 2nd. I think someone else will be able to outbid them pretty easily.

Meh, we'd rather not be in a perpetual rebuild - we may be in one already - and Calgary has good defensive prospects that are mostly developed. I think Botts may prefer that type of known quantity to a generic late-1st that won't be in the NHL for 3-4 years if the guy makes it at all.

I'd make the trade for Valimaki and a throw in.

The Flames are not trading Valimaki for Kane. Let's give up this ghost.

His production is really good this year. On pace for 35 goals and 70+ points. If he keeps that pace up till the deadline, he'd pick up a 1st+ easily

Why do the Sabres want to trade Kane? He's the ONLY one producing regularly. If anything, he's worked for his next contract. I think givig this kid some stability will be good for him and the team or am I seeing this wrong?

The Sabres are the worst team in hockey with or without Evander Kane. They're far away from contention. They don't have a clean cap situation. Signing Kane does nothing for them.

I'm shocked to see how little people regard Kane here I'd love him on the habs

A huge d-bag, with attitude problems, a spike in play during a contract year and is a UFA in the off-season?

I can see plenty of reasons not to have much regard for him. Plus the fact that Buffalo is going to be asking way too much for him.

Kane is a classic luxury player, he's an upper-middle class version of phil kessel, Buffalo has core holes that need to be filled before a player like Kane becomes a priority

a winger who relies on volume, is best paired with defensive specialists and hounding fore checkers long on desire and low on talent, he would have looked great on Nashville last season

Despite putting up good #s its more about the way hes plays. I like to call him the best 3rd/4th liner in the world, he just doesn't have the tools to play on the 1st or 2nd line. He is a possession killer and rarely passes it to teammates..which is a good thing because his passes are awful. Kane gives 100% effort pretty much every shift, has some skill, hes fast, and hes physical but he also will fire the puck anytime it touches his stick, bad angle or not..and that's not something you want out of someone on your top 2 lines. He plays 3on3 and the powerplay the same way he plays 5on5 which is even worse. After you factor all that in the Sabres have a lot of bad contracts and might not be able to afford him( Okposo, Moulson, Bogosian, etc)

Kane likes to carry the puck and hold onto it and hes been slotted next to Eichel all year is a recipe for disaster, Eichel is better with the puck than Kane is but the coaching staff is too stupid to realize this. Another thing is despite his size and physicality I don't remember him screening the goalie once this year.

Would NYI be interested? Only asking cause they have 2 firsts.

Lower of their 1st round picks for Kane could be a fair deal. Not sure if they have need for him though.

I was just curious TBH. He is a useful player to any team and is great on 5 on 5...too bad he's not smart enough to change his style...he's be a really good top 3 winger.

I don't think NYI will go for him as we have this thing with players that have attitude...we dump them. On top of that, I don't think we will have cap space to sign him after we close the JT deal.

Team's are way undervaluing him. He brings much more to the table. All of the offseason nonsense did not happen this offseason and he took care of business. What more do you want from someone who skates, follows through on his hits, back checks, and snipes goals. If Hanzal returns 1st, 4th, and asset. Or Duchene, who while a centermen has underpointed him and is the same age. He's easily worth a 1st, and at least a B level prospect.

Yeah he’s a good player but obviously a locker room cancer. Unfortunately you’d have to pay a lot of gms to take him, if the rumors from Winnipeg are true (which him saying the players he’d want to fight most are on the jets essentially confirms), no GM will trade for him

Obviously, since nothing has happened since Winnipeg...

Except for sexual assault allegations but yeah... it’easy to have no issues with your teammates in Buffalo when not a single winner is on the roster.

All I’m trying to say is he’ll return far less than a normal player with no background of his caliber would.

Even if the Sabres didn't want to trade him, they're basically backed into a corner.....he's a UFA on July 1st and unless they deal him by the trade deadline, they lose him for nothing.....and there's no way Kane is re-signing in Buffalo.....he's going to free agency for sure. Wouldn't shock me at all that with the Sedins possibly coming off the books in VanCity that Benning opens the vault for him on July 1.

It was physical assault, he allegedly grabbed a pair of women by the throat.

I'd be surprised, Benning was one of the guys who was okay dealing Seguin because of attitude issues, don't know why he'd want Kane.
