If Gorton pulls off that scenario BBKers just posted, he'd have completely revamped the organization in an offseason.

I think it is perfectly reasonable that a beat reporter quickly wrote Vesey and Hayes bought a place together when he meant that they got a place together. These reporters aren't lawyers.

If they got a place together I can't see it being any team but the Rangers. Who was that reporter anyway. I didn't see the tweet. Any credibility to get us excited?

If there is one thing reporters and lawyers have in common, it is that words are the tools of their trade. It would be an unreasonable mistake, but also an unsurprising one in this day and age.

The Moore this process goes on the better our chances of Stepan up and getting Vesey I don't think our chances have Staal'd yet.

Buying a condo together may Bodie well for us, but it may be moving too Fast. But let's be civil, no need to throw stones if we're all in Glass houses...

I'd really like to sign Vesey but I've got tempered expectations. Maybe we get him, maybe we don't. And if we don't, I won't let it ruin my weekend.

Unfortunately prevailing trends in "journalism" incentivize being first over being accurate.

I definitely see a Staal for EKane deal, been posting about it here for a while. Makes too much sense for both teams.

The Pegulas want EKane gone, if there is video of that alleged incident that gets leaked, you can expect a lengthy suspension.

So there are some factors that hold up the trade.

I want Trouba. He should be our main target. A top pair of McD-Trouba would be among the league's best for years to come.

I'm not exactly sure what we could give up to acquire him, though. I don't know if Zucc would be enough, Winnipeg is pretty stacked at forward. I think they'd definitely want Skjei.

I don't see us as a great trading partner with Winnipeg they don't need a vet winger

I'd go Kreider, McIlrath and 1st floor Trouba.

But there are issues when dealing with Chevy. He doesn't make deals unless he gets his price. There's no negotiations with that guy to really speak of.

One of the biggest reasons why he has such few player for player deals.

Look at his trade history and you'll see what I mean.

3 first's for Trouba!
who has somewhat Hayes'd for both his 2d and 3rd year?
[ i do believe he's a longtime top 4, but he has been inconsistent ]
OK but they also send back more - say Adam Lowry and prospects like Poolman and/or Glover as well

I'm not buying the whole apartment thing with Hayes.

Him and Rath were interviewed by Cerny at a youth camp a few weeks back and I'm pretty sure he said he just got a place in Boston with Johnny Gaudreau and Paul Carey.

Agreed, Winnipeg seems to have a surplus of young talent on the Wings to go with their Veterans.

Wheeler, Stafford, Ehlers, Laine, Dano, Perrault, Kyle Connor. That's 7 surefire top 9 wingers.

Then they also have Burmistrov, Petan, Armia, Thorburn.

I don't see Wing being a need at all for the Jets, if anything, I think they'd be looking to move a guy like Perrault or Stafford to open up space for Connor and their other young wings.

I think the Jets could use a LHD and a 3rd line C maybe.

I'd assume his place with Johnny Hockey was a summer place for the offseason. Not sure how that impacts where he lives during the year.
