Devils fan here. Quincey has been good this year. Bad trade. Devils have zero idea how to evaluate defenseman evidently as shown with Hynes and now Shero evidently

As a red wings fan, I really liked quincey. Hes a solid 4-5 guy.

If he plays #6 in CLB, they will be happy with him.

Quincey is a universal whipping boy. It's like some people just assume he's the teams worst without watching the games.

Quincey was probably our 2nd best defensive dman in Detroit. Not like that's saying much.

Depends on who you talk to, but some coaches and scouts really like Prout.

He's slow. He lacks hockey intelligence. But he is big and can fight. While I think that he tops out as a 6/7 enforcer defenseman, there are some in the community who believe he has another level to reach. The problem is that he's overpaid relative to his abilities and upside.

Not happy. Was hoping for a second. Would've have been content with a third, but you trade him for a number 7 when you can sign one on a PTO next year for nothing. Wtf? Should've at least got a third.

Why does NJ do this? Quincey is actually a serviceable shut down pairing defenseman

Overpaid players get a lot of hate. Plus we traded a first for him so double that hate.

We're not making the playoffs, so its clearly a. Ray doing Quincey a solid by shipping him to a playoff team with little regard for the return b. Expansion draft positioning.

Its easy to crap all over, but its not like Quincey was going to bring back a king's ransom.

They should have got a pick in return.

Prout's first year in the NHL was surprisingly good and made us think we had a decent shutdown D on our hands. He's spent the next several years making that assessment look not just optimistic, but outright insane. It's like he tried to expand his game and in so trying lost everything he ever had.

Maybe he can rediscover himself in Jersey. I dunno. But most of us are pretty damn thrilled to see him moved; he was legitimately considered the last non-Clarkson crappy contract on the team. Straight up for Quincey? Hell ****ing Yes.
