Really, show me where the players of other teams can vote on those who are leaving taxes against them? Where is their representation? Including those who are not citizens of the USA and are having their money taxed too?
Players from other teams have their own representation for matters where their base residence is.
Tell me that if I go to Canada and work that i will not be taxed at a higher rate than my local government.
It is the cost of doing business, period. Hockey is a business and the players are employees.

You're taking a rallying cry for the lead up to the American Revolutionary War ("No taxation without representation"), and somehow thinking that is enshrined verbatim in the constitution. It is not. Visitors to a municipality or state are not except from sales, hotel taxes, etc.
You're forgetting the classic Constitutional doctrine of give me liberty or give me death, wherein you are obligated to die if you are arrested

How do they track this? You’re telling me if an AHL call up plays one game in Pittsburgh he’s taxed off of that?

A player's salary is broken down to a per day basis for cap calculations so they would be taxed on that amount.

I think every city outside the bay area or NYC has a neighborhood like this

Agreed. I have been to many college cities and they all are surrounded with ghettos. I still wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world . Happy Veterans Day too all.

Seriously, stop watching professional sports if you don't like the fact that players take a cut of the revenue they bring in.

People who complain about players wanting to protect their assets are pathetic. Do something with your life instead of bitching about those who have success in theirs.

It's taxation without representation, which is against the US Constitution. These people have no say in the cities Government therefore they have no obligation to be taxed by the City Government.
lol so by this logic, should they not have to pay sales tax, hotel tax, etc when visiting either?

I get that but I thought that your employer pays you even if you travel out of state for work you get paid and taxed based on the state you play/work in?

If not taxes, they'd just use that money for gambling, escorts and blow. And foolishly waste the rest.

Just change it to a fee and you'll be fine, Pittsburgh.
Interesting, if it was a fee in order to play, the NHLPA could challenge that players don't have to pay the fee to play in games, and then the team would have to pay for it...

basically, it would become a bargaining issue.
