Why doesn't Kap get PP time? Still having trouble understanding this with the way he's playing..

what spot/position do you see him playing at on the PP?

Kapanen seems to be one of those players who isn’t talented enough to generate goals/points while playing with 4th liners 10 minutes a game... but talented enough that he can keep up with star players on the first line. I just hope he continues to put up good numbers, then we can trade him for a D.

He is more than talented enough. He has chemistry with Auston. Sometimes the sum is greater than its parts. It’s a team game, you find a combination that works and stick with it.

Looking at assists per 60, these are the facts:
Kasperi Kapanen's seasons for the Leafs rank 3rd, 10th, and 14th worst all-time for a Leaf right-winger. (Think this stat started being collected in `97)

Makes you wonder where some 'facts' come from. I thought that looked odd, because he also said that was the second worst, which would mean that only 15 players had played right wing for the leafs in the last 20 years. A quick look at NHL.com lists 52, and even if you specify more than 50 games, it's still 34.

Willy makes just no sense at all in the bumper spot.

Why not, WN has a great release in the slot, and Naz can play bumper on PP2.

It's just not tailored to Willy's skillset at all imo.

He needs to be on the half wall but we have Auston and Mitch there.

i completely agree.

i would say anything LESS than 20 goals will be a disappointment for me.

I have high expectations for him this year.

And my boy is coming through!!

Yup. Also Kadri works like a dog in the slot to crash the net, and support everyone on the ice. He really doesn't get enough credit on that unit, just because he isn't racking up the points right now.

Willy just isn't into getting physical jousting it out with Dmen and the like, playing the bumper requires a player who possess's snarl

yup, magically changed from a strict 4th liner to a good 1st liner overnight.

That won’t srip people falling over themselves making bad contract offers

Even if he has a big season he’s getting signed to a cheap 1-2 year bridge deal.

When Willie hopefully gets re-signed soon, putting Kapanen-Matthews-Nylander together seems like a no brainer.

Seriously why trade Nylander when you could put those three together and perhaps create an awesome young, dynamic scoring line??

When Nylander signs the Leafs will have the best 3 lines in hockey.

I still remember getting ridiculed on the main boards for suggesting Kapanen had 20 goal potential and we won't not be trading him for Braun.
Really enjoying his game, would be interesting if he can be effective on the left side as we have a lack of high end LW prospects.
