Even if Makar surpasses Hughes in points, I think it’s very much Hughes’s award to lose this season. Every single advanced stat, metrics, eye test, and everything that comes with it shows he’s been the best defenseman in the NHL both offensively and defensively.

It would be ridiculous honestly, unless cale goes on some absolute tear

McAvoy slept on. Absolute carrying the Bruins D all year and maybe their most consistent player not named Swayman.

Norris has become the Art Ross for Dmen (more or less). McAvoy doesn’t have the shiny offensive numbers to be considered and the fact that he usually misses at least 8-10 games every season doesn’t help.

Josi should be a finalist the way he's been playing the back half of the season.

Just like Mack is the solid frontrunner for the Hart, a Hughes is easily the frontrunner for the Norris.
