(Not all of these players play in the A or will, I believe Hawkey, Evans (Unlisted), Koberstein and Sullivan won't be in the game due to the leagues they play in)

Obviously not all of these kids will live up to potential in the game (I had Dal Colle one year through trade, he had top 6 potential at a 79 overall, I had him in the AHL on the top line, next season he sky rocketed to a 91 with franchise potential)

Yeah they really need separation in the overalls.

90+ are superstars.
86-90 are 1st liners.
81-85 are 2nd liners
75-80 are 3rd liners.
70-74 are 4th liners.

Or something of that sort.

This is what they did with NHL 13 and I liked it, but it didn't stick. Not sure if it was because of fan feedback or not. But they need that separation back.

My 2 Bold Predictions. Weber's rating stays the highest among defenseman and Crosby STILL is the highest rated plyer

Weber is bumbed by his physical category, Crosby still the best player in the league so he should be the best player. Toews will be better than Bergeron and Kopitar because EA sucks and intangibles.

Maybe not predictions, not counting prospects or guys like Dzingel, here's where I'd have the Senators full time guys after last season.

MacArthur 83-Turris 87-Stone 89
Hoffman 86-Zibanejad 85-Ryan 86
Smith 85-Pageau 83-Lazar 81
Chiasson 80-Neil 81

Methot 85-Karlsson 94
Phaneuf 86-Ceci 84
Borowiecki 79-Wideman 80
Wiercioch 80

Here's my logic with some of these changes.
-MacArthur was out all last season with a concussion. A guy who missed an entire season with an injury that has potential to permanently effect his play should take a dock in overall until proven otherwise.
-Turris was having a career year until having to play injured. He is a very consistent scorer so he should stick around the 87/88 range he has been in past games.
-Stone deserves a huge boost. He is the Senators best forward. Champion of take aways. 60+ point scorer. 89 might be a stretch, I'm actually not sure what his overall would work out to because certain attributes seem to effect overalls higher. I'd make him either a two way forward or a play maker. EA has had him as a power forward for a while, which seems off, since he rarely hits. He should have below average skating/hitting, but his poke check should rival the best players in the game. He has high hockey IQ, so his o and d awareness should be high. He's also a pretty good passer, and has scored a pace of 25+ goals in his last two seasons so in the EA world there is justification for giving him at least an above average or good shot.
-Ryan gets docked down. He is still a good player, but as far as EA games go, he has been riding the coat tails of his previous success.
-Hoffman's OA will seem low, but his actual offensive attributes would be higher than a typical 86oa. Physical/D awareness will drag his overall down a few points.
-Smith had a career year. He has been stuck at 83 in EA games for years, and just had a 25 goal season. Give him a slight offensive raise. Maybe change him over from a grinder to a two way forward since grinders rarely score in GM mode.
-Pageau at 83 seems fair for a good middle 6 match up centre who scored nearly 40 points this season. I think EA has him as a PLY, but I'd probably make him a TWF. I'd switch Lazar to a GRN just based on his usage the past two years.
-Defense is roughly the same as what I see right now in Legacy. Not sure if I'm on the most up to date roster. Karlsson should be the best D in the game. Wiercioch down to 80.

Looking at ratings it's funny how many 3rd pairing and 4th line players are in the 80s, they really need to change the rating system to something like:

Elite = 90+
1st line/pairing/top 15 starter = 85-89
2nd line/pairing/16-30 starter = 80-84
3rd line/pairing/31-45 backup = 75-79
4th line/pairing/46-60 backup = 70-74

With this the Caps could be (using last years rosters):

Ovechkin (93) - Backstrom (89) - Oshie (86)
Burakovsky (79) - Kuznetsov (87) - Williams (84)
Chimera (77) - Beagle (76) - Johansson (82)
Winnik (73) - Richards (72) - Wilson (74)
Latta (69), Galiev (69)

Alzner (86) - Niskanen (87)
Orpik (79) - Carlson (88)
Schmidt (76) - Orlov (77)
Chorney (74), Weber (73)

Holtby (92)
Grubeaur (77)

It would be absolutely hysterical if Toews is a 92  He really shouldn't be higher than an 87 at most.

He's a lot better than your captain and he's one of the best defensive forwards in the game.

Kyle Brodziak is a great defensive forward. Doesn't mean he deserves to be highly rated. Toews is a 50-60 point player that plays above average defense. That's a very good player, I'm not saying he sucks, but to rate him as a superstar is stupid because he's not one. He belongs right with Derek Stepan. They are VERY similar players. You realize Jussi Jokinen outscored Toews this year? Should he be a 92? He plays very good defense too. Derek Brassard exact same numbers as Toews. Toews's scoring totals have gone down each of the last three seasons. Who is to say he won't put up 50 points next year? That's the way he's heading.

Agree, especially for the fourth liners, there is many players in the SHL fx that is BETTER hockey players than NHL grinders doing 4 min a night in the NHL. The fourth liners should be as poster above described, and then the really good euro players should be 75-80.
