They're 7-1, I disagree about the "legit" part though. Reversion to the mean will happen, and they will not make the playoffs.

To be fair, the same statement could be made regarding the Devils.

McPhee has done a terrible job. He f***ed the goaltending position pretty early on by waiving Pickard to claim Subban. Then traded Pickard, Fleury got injured, Subban got injured, now they’re down to the third string. He also f***ed up the Shipachyov situation is still playing games. He shouldn’t get any credit for this start. He’s a poor GM, but I can already see him being ranked top 10 by main board morons, because of the hot start. They’re winning in spite of the job he’s done so far. He seems like he’s trying to tank, if anything.

He is but it's kind of unprecedented to have nine defensemen on a 23-man roster. That's the only reason he's in the minors, zero roster flexibility. McPhee is even worse than Lou at kicking the can down the road.

It's one thing to have Shea Theodore stuck in the minors, he's still got plenty of time. But a 30-year old guy who could be making good money in the KHL riding buses cause McPhee won't cut Jon Merrill and Clayton Stoner is laughable.

He was a part of the, "all the defensemen are mine" strategy.

And Stoner (also a defenseman) came with Theodore in one of those exansion bribery packages that I think should be illegal.

And eight points in 14 playoff games last year...so yeah that's actually worse than Shipchaynkov in a way. They need to clear out multiple guys to make room for Theodore which is ridiculous. But they're not trading him, McPhee may be obtuse and thickheaded but he isn't stupid.
