Oh man a canes predators playoff series would be possible and could be pretty dope, especially if crowds can be back by then.

I know its 2 different teams now but man this game was awesome

That was the game where I started to believe that the jerks were going to have their annual spring turnaround a little earlier than normal, they had already won something like 4 of 5 prior but that Nashville team was a year removed from the Presidents Trophy and ended up finishing 2nd or whatever overall in the Western Conference.

I wonder if the decision on how many players are going to count against the cap with a taxi squad is the current hold up for roster moves.

Are the ones only playing that day count for daily cap hit? Will teams be required to count 21, 22, or 23 players on the daily cap hit? I cant imagine taxi squad players would count, that would cause some serious anarchy. Maybe we will see where roster players have a full hit but, taxi squad players count a percentage of the cap to prevent teams from putting their crap, expensive players (Lucic, Neal, Eriksson, etc) on the taxi squad and getting out of that bad contract for the year. Taxi squad players cant practice with the team or be present at the facility during scheduled practice to avoid some of that too.

I could be over thinking it. I dont know.

Seems like it would be easiest to treat them with the normal rules of waivers and two way/one way salaries as if they're in the minors until called up from the squad. Hard to say if that's what they'll do.

That would be the easiest. I think with the Covid they will want to minimize player movements this season from a standpoint of a team claiming a player. It will probably be a secondary list. Doesnt count against the cap, arent on the roster but, the league has to be notified of a roster move if activated. How is the travel for baseball like series going to work? I guess at home games you would only need to carry 20 but when traveling any player that travels must be on the roster?

Then you get into pay for these players. 2 way players paid as minor or NHL players when on the taxi squad? Technically they aren't either an AHL or NHL player.

My guess would be a compromise of you're getting some of the big league perks on the taxi squad like per diems and such even though you would still get a minor league salary if not on the actual active roster of 20-23 players. I believe that's how the MLB did it with their 3 player taxi squads. If you weren't on the game day roster, you didn't get service time or pay, just per diems and other perks of being with the big club even though you aren't officially with the big club.

I remember seeing the banners that hung off the side of the RBC center after the cup win on there once upon a time. Still wonder who on earth would have bought those.

The cooler one was the SCF in-ice logo, which was printed on felt, apparently. That would have been a neat piece for the wall, and sized such that it could actually fit inside a house.

At the equipment sale they were trying to get rid of some old Olympic and All-Star player banners. They were so big they had to be laid across rows of seats for display.

I just can't figure out what the heck you do with those after you buy them. They're much too big for display unless you have a spot with 20 foot ceilings that you desperately want to dedicate to Olympian Tim Gleason.

I mean, the only real market for that would be to sell it to Tim Gleason. So really, just give it to Tim Gleason. He can hang it in the winery or something.

I have no evidence for this, but I choose to believe they offered it to Tim Gleason and he was like, what the hell am I supposed to do with that? No.
