For real though. Faulk is now tied for 2nd with Shea Weber in goals by a defensemen this year (Faulk has played 7 less games). Brent Burns has a solid 11 goal lead over Weber & Faulk though.

Also by the way Faulk had a very slow start to the season, with only 3 goals through the first 26 games. He now has 14 in his last 45 games, if that extends into a full season that's a 26 goal pace.

Faulk is like a mini Brent Burns. The playmaking ability from the backend isn't really there but the ability to sneak up into the play and become a scoring option is what sets him apart. The improvement in his wrist shot in particular has been worth noting. The slapshot has always been there.

Agree. His slapshot has always been there, but his accuracy and ability to get his shot (both slap shot and wrist shot) through traffic has improved dramatically. He doesn't advertise when the shot is coming (unlike the slow, huge wind-up Murphy has) by utilizing subtle delays and small movement. Quite remarkable. Like you said though, the wrist shot improvement is remarkable. He might even be on Drayson Bowman's level now.
