That's why I would have rather lost this shit fest 5-2 than bringing it to within one before the empty netter.

Now everybody feels better about themselves and they don't really think this was up there with the Detroit game for worst performance of the season.
When you paid $90 to be at the game ill take the tease at a monumental comeback. I thought we'd get caved and would need a miracle to salvage any points tonight.

A Devils' jersey with the Hurricanes flag logo is a straight up sin lol
That's pure shit!

You trade for a dman because you cannot throw our rookie dmen to the wolves for the last half a season. We need Veteran dman
We don’t have bupkus to trade. You don’t move this or next years’ first round picks given how thin we already are in Utica. We must start to rebuild the youth depth because guys on entry level contracts are your talented rank and file under the current league system and we have a lot of young guys whom we are now going to need to pay as they come off of that status.

We will probably bring up Cal Foote and we will see Smith back on D regularly.

I don't think getting another Vitek goalie is a big deal. I think the current Vitek probably would have still been serviceable if not for his nervous breakdown that was last year's playoffs.

Goalie coach needs to be fired tomorrow. All these injuries have nothing to do with him and can't save his job like they can for everybody else. Just get an interim goalie coach or a committee of goalie coaches to ride out the rest of the year and see who is available in the offseason, who maybe isn't available right now.

Rogalski just being allowed to come to work everyday is a certifiable CRIME at this point.
It is a big risk. It’s fine to take that risk when the team is rebuilding and your trying to find a gem on the cheap. You make that move now and you get another dud it will be brutal

Next year, they're not going to do anything. Jacks going to be out a while I'd bet, who knows with Palat, Siegenthaler will miss the next probably month and half or two. Meier seems to be made of balsa wood. It's just not smart to do anything "splashy" this year.

Yeah I would agree with that. Only Fitz knows the truth with the timetable on the injuries so if the team won’t be healthy before the playoffs then yeah just sell

But the guy most talked about could very well be a dud, is signed for 3 more years and at a big cap hit, and his team seems to think he's actually worth someone that's any good.

That could be a GM killing acquisition right there.

Bring in an Allen, Mrazek type this year isn’t a big risk at this point. Come the offseason pay what Boston want for either Ullmark or Swayman (they probably have to move one of them in the offseason).

That’s fine but just realize this is their window two elc with two team friendly long term cornerstones. Bratt Timo similar friendly too. So you keep staying the course when do you try and make the next step
Luke and Nemec are long term pieces with all the others signed. The cap going up and contracts ending/moving come at the perfect time for the young guys.

You take what we’ve now got and try to hang in the race for the next month or two. Play 500 hockey maybe a little better and get guys healthy back.

But we’ve not got any more margin for error. One more 5 or 6 game losing streak and we will probably be too far back to climb out of. The next stretch of the season is crucial. Guadalcanal or Midway island style. We just need to hang in there right now. Tampa game coming up should be interesting.

Damon Severson was a 20 year old rookie in 2014-15.

Everyone know’s Luke’s dumb shit will likely be an annoying problem in the future/forever, to some degree, but he has the “only played less than 50 NHL games” card still.

We watched Severson play 663 games.

Solid meme work though.

I am 100% in the camp that this team needs a new coach before even considering giving up value for a new goalie.

This system is a goalie killer. That's what I see as the problem.
Never gonna happen. How can you fire someone if you are responsible for not giving him an NHL goalie

Luke’s already close to what Seve’s was talent wise imo.

Damn if you do damn if you don’t. As long as the team is projected to get healthy before the playoffs if Fitz doesn’t improve the goalie this season that’s a huge issue. To throw away a playoff chance because prices are too high? Well he better hope they drop in the summer which I dunno if they will

lol that’s true. I mean he got average goaltending last year and this team went off. He’s not getting it this year

Aside from Toffoli there really isn't much to sell anyway unless you're throwing McLeod in there which would make sense from a return standpoint but it's a hard sell for many of us who would like to keep him. I think they call up Misyul or Vukojevic for now. Something like this for D and see where we are at in another month.

Bahl-Nemec
Hughes-Marino
Smith/Misyul/Vukojevic-Miller

Fair

But he’s exacerbated the issue by the insanity of playing Vitek as much as he has. Schmid was performing better than him (still not good but better)

He’s on pace to play the same number of games he played last year and start one fewer game than he did last year. Last year they didn’t need to give Schmid more rope cause Vanecek was fine. They just needed not to f*** shit up with giving shitbag Blackwood more games, which I’m convinced they would have if his injury didn’t take care of that for them in the first week of November.

Maybe he just sees the win/loss record and thinks “Oohhhh yeaahhhh! This guy is good still! Look how much he wins? He must be good! Brodeur won a lot too! So did Hasek and i had him!!” lol.

Having watched little of the game I don't even know what Luke did to prompt that, but when you give up SIX in a game, there's plenty of blame to go around

Preach on my man! I know bowl is going to be pouncing
I've gotten on Bratt before (it was last season when he was struggling) so this is not new to me.

But he's got to read the room here and know the situation.

He has not done a good job at knowing that the PP is about to expire...that's what I've noticed.

I think that's why he's been a bit too relaxed and "deliberate" (slow) in his decisions instead of thinking "Oh sh*t! Time is almost up!" and then start firing away.

I thought it was communicated when the PP is about to expire...

No need to call anybody up just let smith play if you have to. Let those guys play big minutes down there

I think it's safe to say that with these injuries, the trajectory of this season has shifted itself from pointing slightly upward toward the playoffs to a bit more directly downwards toward missing them.

I'm inclined to agree with that. I really don't think making any moves is the right move. I'm assuming Hughes is out a while but with Palat and Meier potentially being back sooner I'd rather not make any moves.

Home Reds have made a respectable record but the 3rd jerseys need to go away for good...

Jersey / helmet records...

Road Whites / white helmets 12-5 = 24 points

Home Reds 7-5-2 = 16 points

3rd Blacks 2-4 = 4 points

Road Whites / black helmets 0-1 = 0 points

Total 21-15-2 = 44 points
