Good move by BC, bringing back Greg Brown. A former Eagles student-athlete, he was Jerry York’s top assistant for several years including three national championships.

The delay in the announcement could be that Brown was coaching the Dubuque Fighting Saints during their playoff run, though the rumored run at Leaman could have something to do with it, too.

Both BC and BU have signed top tier coaches this week. The rivalry will continue.

Currently there are 59 Division 1 schools that have a Mens hockey program, starting this Fall the climb to 70 starts
University of Alaska Anchorage 2022
Lindenwood University (Missouri) 2022
Stonehill College (Massachusetts)2022
Augustana University (South Dakota) 2023
Robert Morris University (Pennsylvania) 2023

There are discussions about bringing the remaining D2 Mens Hockey programs up to D1 status
They are
Assumption College (Massachusetts)
Franklin Pierce University (New Hampshire)
Post University (Connecticut)
Saint Anselm College (New Hampshire)
Saint Michael's College (Vermont)
Southern New Hampshire University
Stonehill is already moving up regardless

Everything is subject to change including adding University of Alabama Huntsville

So the next question would be, where would the player pool be coming from? Last Months Hockey News had an article stating a new development league rivaling the USHL and NAHL is forming on the West Coast and is backed by multiple West Coast NHL teams, we shall see
