On one hand, my heart feels sad. We have literally watched Weber grow up and he's been the most important player the franchise has ever had.

On the other hand, my brain is bursting with joy because, for my money, Subban is the best all around defenseman in the league. Unbelievable.

Congrats, guys. PK is as dynamic and fun as you've heard. He's a blast to watch on the ice and a joy to listen to in interviews. He makes hockey fun. You'll love the person and (mostly) love the player. Yes, there were rumblings about locker room issues, he apparently does grate on some, but the great far outweighs the grate. He's a real talent who'll hopefully give you years of quality.

I'll be cheering him on and wishing success to Nashville on his behalf.

I literally don't know how to feel. On one hand, we lost a guy who just WON THE FREAKING LEADERSHIP AWARD for a guy who has been rumored to have attitude issues.

Subban donated $10 million to Montreal Children's Hospital. You don't see very many people doing that. I think the attitude issues are completely overblown if not non-existent.

The Preds currently have roughly $28.7m $24.6m in cap recapture penalty accrued for Weber - from salary+bonuses paid in excess of his cap hit. That was going to go down starting the year after next once his salary+bonuses dipped below the cap hit, but now that we've traded him, it won't. It'll stay constant.

This is not an issue so long as Weber does not retire before the contract ends. If he does, though, it gets bad. Really, really bad:

Now that said, PK Subban is ****ing beautiful and amazing and I can't imagine anyone else I would prefer to have on the Predators. I just hope Shea doesn't end up screwing us.

And he did very well with Markov too despite Markov skating on one leg.

Should not be a problem imo.

I wonder who will play with Weber next season. From what i've seen of Weber he's too slow to play with an aging Markov. Wont work with Emelin either. Michel Térien doesn't like Beaulieu he's not a good enough person for him he should be traded soon too.

I guess Barberio will play with Weber probably.
