Haven't seen much of him, but he seems like the type of player the Habs should be holding onto or at least packaging into something a bit bigger than a 5th next year.

So the Habs have probably the crappiest D in the league or at best top 3 crappiest D in the league and they trade for next to nothing a defender. One who was decent for the Habs as opposed to some of the scrap they deploy?

What is happening here? Freaking Twilight Zone or something!

Before you get rid of Jerabek you jettison Morrow, Schlemko and to an extent Benn.

Furthermore, if you already know the season is lost and you are planning to trade this guy, why not frickin play him for crying out loud and put him is situations to showcase him and increase his value
FFS!!

Unreal!

How do analyst say he’s not playing to showcase other players then move him for a late pick. Had faith in management for 2-3 seasons but lost all hope :(

Sekac trade all over again.

Habs fans will complain about it a lot, but he's not as good as most think he is

You’re probably right but they hardly gave him a chance. Can’t be any worse than Benn or Morrow

Good deal for the Caps but really he's a replaceable player all things considered. Nobody should be unhappy about turning him into a future asset.

Decent trade for both teams. If you give Jerabek a chance on the bottom pairing he'll impress you, he definitely has some offensive potential that he didn't really show in Montreal.

And to the Habs fans complaining... he was a UFA and had no reason to re-sign with us, Morrow is worse but he has no value, might as well pick up a free asset
