D'Arnaud is 27. That's not old, but it's old enough to think that he is what he is. He absolutely cannot stay healthy, and now there are legitimate questions about whether all the injuries have taken a toll on his hitting, and he has a noodle arm. The "upside" of him is nice, but it's hard to see him ever really fulfilling his potential. He needs to go to the AL and try his hand as a DH.

Problem is that his bat isn't good enough for DH.

Clearly, the former. His ceiling as an offensive player is not even in the same stratosphere as prime Wright.

From what I know about Rosario, he's an agressive hitter who can hit for contact but will not draw a lot of walks because of his plate approach. He's definitely below average power, slugged just .335 last season.

He's there/here for his defense which is elite. Hell probably be just around league average for a shortstop offensively but a huge run saver on defense with a plus arm. You sacrifice some offense when you have a defensive player of his caliber.

MLB Average Offense for shortstops
256/.307/.375

His batting line
.257/.307/.335

Extremely similar, with a noticable dip in power though.

This is exactly why you don't scout the lines by themselves.

Protection for Sanchez.

Gary is the only bat right now that will remotely bother pitchers.

AS in home runs? Castro, Didi, Ellsbury, Gardner, hopefully Bird comes back in form....these are all pretty good to very good hitters. Didi & Castro both had 20 homers this year.

I don't know, you're making it sound like Sanchez is the only guy who can hit on this whole tema.

That would be a pretty good haul for 1 year of Grandy.

I prefer to trade Bruce, but you do what the market dictates. Seems like Grandy has more interest out there.

So odd not seeing the Yankees being in on EE and Trumbo. End of an era.

Both guys would cost 1st round picks. that team in Texas(forgot their name) must be interested.

He hits under 250 in a division of the Marlins, Brave and Phillies.
His bad habits are as big as his ego.
Buyer beware.
Its more likely Trout will get that type of contract.
