Seriously dump everything that's not bolted down. Get way younger, enough with this mediocrity.

This^. Problem is they have been winning games, make a sell harder for Hal S. and Levine to agree to; they are clueless as to how to build a team the right way. They will royally screw this up.

Nice job Cash, now let him sell Hal!

This is a team that hasn't been 3 games over 500 once this season, hopefully the Astros can take at least 2 of 3.

Will be interesting to see who the mystery player is. McKinney is a 4th outfielder. Warren is garbage.

Apparently for the Yankees it came down to Torres v Eloy Jimenez, 19 year old power hitting outfielder.

Apparently McKinney took a step back this year, but was a top 100 prospect the year before. You may well be right about his upside, but I'd want to give him a year or so before relegating him to just another Williams/Cave/Hicks/Heathcott.

The thing with McKinney is that he can hit however has limited power. Because of that he doesn't profile as a corner outfielder. His bat can play in CF but he doesn't have the speed, range or the instincts to play there. Kinda stuck in no mans land.

What happened to Warren this year? Wasn't like a Shane Greene where he had success in a small sample, guy had 3 nice seasons for the Yanks.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks - not as up on the prospects in any sport as much as I used to be.

BTW, here's a nice little tidbit about the guy going the other way:

No idea. Hopefully Yanks put him in the long relief role / multi innings guy. he was very solid for us when he was here.

Meh, hes still only 28.

More than likely has 2 elite years left, maybe 3.

Not outlandish that only the 4th year would be bad value.

Or he can blow out his arm in his debut. Baseball.

Age isn't an issue, it's paying a guy $15 mill a year who pitches 1 inning at a time and 70-90 innings a year. You don't really get bang for buck with closers.

I'm a big believer in drafting pitchers and then those who fail as starters you convert them into relievers. Betances being a prime example.
