Still sitting on one HR for the entire year offline. So many balls squared up that just end up being line drives, even with guys with a ton of power. I ended up playing a 9 inning Conquest game yesterday because I couldn't score a run on Veteran. I definitely think the offline hitting needs a big adjustment. Power doesn't have to be king like it was last year, but there is a middle ground in there. 1 HR in probably 500 ABs with some great hitters is just far from realistic. I'm fine with homers only happening when I get good timing and squared up contact, but even then I'd have about 30 homers. All of my squared up hits are just bullets right at fielders.
I abandoned most of my true power hitters and added some speed/contact to the top of the lineup. Bought Trea Turner and Dee Gordon, put Trevor Story at 3B and now have 3 guys with 85+ speed at the top of the order. Then I have Cliff Floyd, Ted Williams, and Steve Finley to hopefully drive them in. Much easier to score runs this way. Base hit, steal a bag, another base hit, run. It worked very well for me.
Does anyone know if you continue to get program stars for Conquest after you beat the strikeout map? I didn't even realize you got program stars for conquest wins until yesterday. I was just playing it for the 30 stars at the end for beating it. 300 stars to get one of the legends seemed impossible, but now it almost seems too easy if every conquest game gives 2 and you get more along the way through missions and more for completing the map. I'm thinking once I complete the map I won't be able to keep getting the stars, which makes me not want to complete the map until I'm within 30 stars of 300....
