So in the 5 of 8 years they weren't dead last, what position were they in for attendance? So far they appear like hapless bottom feeders...

The issue with ranking teams attendance numbers over those years is that it looks like Owen Sound numbers are in the bottom half but keep in mind that most buildings are at least 1,000-2,000 capacity over the size of the Bayshore. If every building was roughly the same size and the regions with comparable those numbers would be drastically different.14/15

As of now, there are no official announcements regarding an increase in seating capacity at The Aud for the Kitchener Rangers. The current seating capacity stands at 7,234, with a total capacity of 7,777 including standing room. The population of the region is more around 650 thousand. Attack Sound makes a great point regarding attendance. All these numbers , the demographics and economy factor into the attendance numbers. It's easy to brag about attendance in a bigger city but there are other factors effecting the attendance in less populated areas. I think it's amazing the Attack have an OHL franchise. Attended a few games there and the building is fine. Just there to watch a hockey game not a super bowl show anyway. On a side note: I would rather see Taylor Swifts pic in the OHL barns than the old Queen or King Big Ears. Preferably none if possible. The issue with ranking teams attendance numbers over those years is that it looks like Owen Sound numbers are in the bottom half but keep in mind that most buildings are at least 1,000-2,000 capacity over the size of the Bayshore. Most other arenas have capacities around 4,000-5,000 with standing room. Where Owen Sound has 3,500, in a city that is roughly 20,000 most OHL cities are at least double the size and greater not to add a lot of teams have fanbases that exceed the city limits to the surrounding areas the outline the major centre's of the city.
Take for example Kitchener they have a building that holds 5,700 but they draw from a region that 500,000+ between Kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge where as Owen Sound and Grey-Bruce has 174,000+. Take that mixed with successes of each of those franchises and that would explain a lot of those attendance numbers.
Plain a simple success brings out the fans.
And for every excuse given for Owen Sounds attendance someone could give two or three for Mississaugas. (time to commute home from work on a Friday night, competition for the entertainment dollar) Owen Sound is still only playing to 76.9% capacity this season, so there's room for improvement. Still can't access Josh Brown's article yet. It does say Missy will get free rent in Brampton for five years I believe. You need a Record subscription to access Brown's articles and we gave ours up after forty plus years. Once in a while it opens up without a subscription.Looked for it and couldn't find it, possible to send a link?
