I am not pleased when TVA or 98.5 commentors make ridiculous statements on Twitter or publically that nobody wants him. What about their poster boy Drouin? Who wants that? At least, Hoffman is more engaged.

They will mumble on most nights about how Drouin has improved his game. Hoffman is the least of the Habs' problems right now. Dadonov and Drouin are hot garbage out there.

Hoffman is a sniper. If nobody feeds him, then you won't get him going.

He wont get going cause he rarely goes within 50 feet of the net

Hoffman still in the lineup reeks of politics. It's not a coincidence that Suzuki and Caufield had their worse game of the season against Buffalo.

You still don't seem to get it. Why are people so hard on Hoffman while poster boy Drouin gets a free pass every time.

He's been showcased for an eventual trade. Place him on waivers and sent him down. That will save you a million in cap space to call up a youngster, hungry to play instead. Do the same with Drouin.

HuGo is not fond of dead cap, but he needs to realize that Drouin, Hoffman and Byron are worthless. Armia might still have some salvage value.

Who cares what some xenophobic commentators say

And its just deflection response. Hoffman is accountable for his own poor play.

People only focusing on Hoffman doesnt make what they say wrong just there is more company that they could comment. If you want to hang your hat on that to defend Hoffman, fill your boots

Who said I'm defending him? You should realize that Dadonov, Hoffman, Drouin, Byron and Armia are just dead weight, and equally all responsible for their poor performance, although Byron will likely never play another game.

Hoffman seemed like a logical pickup back then with Suzuki feeding him alongside Toffoli or even Anderson. Caufield and Suzuki are two youngsters trying to prove themselves out there. They don't need a Hoffman but rather a complete veteran like Toffoli to guide them. That's why Toffoli's value was high and was eventually traded.

I don't know what your expectations are of Hoffman. He's a sniper, a slightly worse Pacc type uni-dimensional player. He needs a veteran C to feed him pucks. Same as Dadonov. These guys are what you call complementary players on good teams. The Habs are light years away from that now, so your expectations should be low, quite low.

I wouldn't be surprised if some reputable journalist posted on Twitter that nobody wants Drouin, that would surely run him out of town. Out of respect of these athletes, no journalist should say things like that in public.

Hoffman is not part of the solution, he's a plug on a very bad team, gone in 1.5 years from now, commanding a high salary. It is not your money, so you shouldn't care. He's someone's else mistake, that is gone. He's being showcased out there for an eventual trade. The Habs are definately trying to get creative to find a permanent fix.

Focus instead on what the youngsters can bring to the table.

Drouin is not their poster boy anymore. I would say since last 2 years. Only Chantal Machabé will make a friendly interview with him because she is like a mother who will love whatever happen, you know, she is lovely and very human.

Don't worry too much about Hoffman, I don't like his play but I'm not stupid. He will find his shoot later in the season. I can't beleive he lost completely his shot. It's only a matter of time. We need patience.

MSL has a job to do......and it's not necessarely winning games.

Drouin, it's easy, he's gone in a couple of months
Dadonov, it's also easy, he's gone in a couple of months too

Hoffman, he's here next year too and we all agree we want him gone. Tanking his value won't help and create a problem for almost 2 years....although we're reaching the point of no return of his value like for Drouin.

MSL has too much bodies right now and has to keep an healthy balance of keeping his players happy, development his prospects and trying to get some value out of many players in order to be able to treade them.

Hoffman has even less value than Drouin and Dadonov now (or has more negative value), due to an extra year.

And the more he's playing, the more he's tanking his value.

His play on the Suzuki goal is so underrated.

Yeak the pass was spooky good but Hoffman did a good play on the blue line that kept the play alive.

But really, it's Hoffman pick and 1on1 battle in front of the net (!) that opened up the passing line for Suzuki

We were/are fortunate that right smack in the middle of the rebuild we have certain contracts expiring at the perfect time
(Gallagher is wtv that contract was never going anywhere, it was about avoiding it altogether that needed to happen)

BUT, this extra year on Hoffmans contract is slowly and surely becoming a huge problem lol, theres no room for him NOW, let alone NEXT year like holy shit lol
We just may very well have to buy him out.. it really might be the only way sadly.. as much as I would love us to avoid that, you dont want wtv 2 mill of dead money on the cap for like 3 years but ffs you just CANNOT gave this guy around moving forward..

Above EVERYONE who needs to be trimmed, it's clear #1 on the list is hoffman

Good luck Kent..

I knew he would find his shooting sooner or later. He already have 3 goals. In March he will have more goals trhan Anderson or Gallagher. He's not done. He was just a bit rusty.

Nice to see him getting on a little roll here.

Still hopeful we can flip him by the deadline, even if it’s for a middling asset that would be a big win for Hughes to make more room moving forward.

Hoffman has good chemistry with Gallagher and Dvorak. They play well together. Gallagher is the hard working winger. Dvorak is defensive specialist. While Hoffman has that good shot.
