What confuses me is how forum users can't, or won't, use google. His name is from Irish origins according to this site, although I didn't research it long: https://www.houseofnames.com/mccarron-family-crest

Pretty cool site. I found a guy that MIGHT be my great grandpa listed under "notable" names. Well, he has the right first and last name at least. It says he's Norweigan there, but I thought he was Danish... not too certain though.

That Scottish vs Irish debate is leaving me confused. Is he a bust or not?

No matter. He no "bust". He true Scotsman, just like true English in thread title. HF standard maintained. :sarcasm:

He's a bloody Irishman..take it from a fellow McC.

Tuned in to TSN1200's pregame show yesterday when they interviewed Oshawa's head coach and asked him who has been his best player. He talked about a couple of players, including MDC, but concluded with McCarron, and heaped hefty praise..essentially saying he can score, fight, skate, win faceoffs, be a physical force...basically can do everything required to help his club win hockey games.

I figured it was a joke but being Irish my feathers did get a little ruffled. Haha.

Gonna change my username in honour of this.

Meh never cared for either. I like rye as it's so much smoother. New Honey Spike from 40 Creek is awesome.
