I don't think anyone assumes he'll keep up 1.5 GPG for much longer. But goal-scorers are streaky. What he's doing is just a normal scoring streak for elite scorers. He'll come back down to earth but he'll also have similar stretches every now and then where he scores on insane pace. So does every elite scorer.

Well isn't this kinda obvious? It's not like he will continue to score over goal per game on average from now on till eternity. Streaks are completely normal especially for goal scorers, it doesn't make his totals any less impressive.

What? Can you read? This poll does not ask who made the playoffs last year.

This poll is also not about who can score the most goals as you seem to have elevated Laine past Matthews because of his awesome run if scoring the last month.
Laine is a hell of a player top goal scorer in the league in my opinion but Matthews brings more to the table while also being able to score with the best of them.
Like I said before. A line is made up of three players and I feel Matthews and Marners play would make that third player on the line better because of the way each player drives the play on offense and defense and even strength.

Laine is the best goal scorer in this poll. He has 43 goals in 72 games. And is just starting to look like the player some have projected him to be. Barzal is a offensive driving 2 way Center with 73 pts playing with 54 assists. Again the best offensive driver in this poll. Now no one knows how it would look if these 2 teamed up, but it doesn't take a big leap to surmise, it could be Hull and Oates 2.0 with Laine's shot and ability to find open space and Barzal's great vision and passing touch to find him. Pretty easy choice for me.

I never posted on the Jets forum. I am not stupid enough to create multiple user names go to the Jets forum to troll Laine and Jets posters. Truly sad and pathetic when someone does that. But as BlueShakhead and others will attest to, it happened with that poster.

It's not identical, but it's pretty much the same idea. He posted on a board he wasn't a fan of for a significant amount of time in a deceitful way, to try to get a reaction out of people. if anything it's worse, because he did it for years rather than one day
