The season this kid is having, with no hype outside of the Brynas and Flyers fanbase, is astounding.

He pretty much single-handedly won the final game of the Brynas-Frolunda series.

Frolunda badly outplayed Brynas yet lost 3-1 thanks to Lindbloms' 2 goals and 1 assist.

Sorry if its been beaten to death but is he forsure coming to North America next year?

Yeah. His coach indicated in the past week or so he's going to be in NA next year.

He played with the Phantoms last year at the end of the season but went back to finish out his contract in the SHL this year. The Flyers didn't push him to sign seeing he was in a good situation there.

20 year old Oskar Lindblom has been named the SHL Forward of the Year!!

http://www.broadstreethockey.com/20...-2016-17-top-forward-in-swedish-hockey-league

Can't wait to see this kid in Orange & Black, along with either Patrick or Hischier, in 2017-2018.

"His career has been marked out and Oskar Lindblom has constantly evolved in the right direction. His style of play is ground covering, pungent and technical. He has a good shot and is also a great challenge players."

There you have it...Mike Richards is Cannon...Oskar Lindblom is Pungent.

Philly has no good forward prospects.

:sarcasm:

Lindblom, Nico/Nolan, Konecny is the 1st wave of the drafted forwards on the way!

Its extremely relevant. The dude couldn't play in a tighter, harder game style. I dont know much about Lindblom's game to forecast his transition

Runblad was an undersized puck moving D man. Lindblom is a 6-2 hard nosed forward with a lot of skill. An argument could be made that Lindblom is more suited to NA style than SWE.

comparison to soderberg when he came to NA? In Boston, he was a reliable 2nd/3rd liner

Rundblad is 6'2, too. Size is the least of his issues.

Lindblom is Gonna be a shut down player at the next level imo. His offense is coming along great but I believe his defense will always be better. He is shooter, great wrist and snap. He doesn't play around with the puck on his stick for very long. Its hard for me to compare him to a current nhler but my guess would be Pacioretty without the skating ability. Good 2nd line, great 3rd line Winger

Might be 6'2 now but not sure he was when drafted. He was in his 160s when drafted IIRC. Def undersized/skinny for a defenseman

Edit: weird, I watched draft video and it says he's 6'2" 197... clearly he's not that, and currently he's listed 187? He lost 10 lbs since draft year? In any case, he played small

So?

Just want to know what kind of player he is now and not what he can potentially be.

Right now, Lindblom is a big, strong left winger with great hands and hockey sense and who excels along the boards and in the cycle game. He's got a very quick release on his wrister/one timer. Goes to the net hard and is big enough to be the PP net front presence tipping shots, screening the goalie.

This year his game took a leap in which he developed more ability to generate chances off the rush - mostly because, as he gets stronger, his speed is picking up. He is tenacious on the forecheck and very responsible defensively. Very good, smart hockey player. Oh, and Forward of the Year too...

Not much in web highlights, but here are some from the previous season:

A few more, from this year and WJC two years ago:
