As long as it's reasonable cap for a 4th line center, getting 4th line minutes, I'm 100% ok with this.

That said, I'm expecting way too much money and an NMC.

It's not. If you noticed, that's Helm's AAV.

Although a 4 yr, 3.85M contract (like 962,500 a year) wouldn't be terrible

I did realize that. But if Holland would give Helm that, wouldn't be surprised if he gave Glendening that too.

Nothing is really off limits at this point.

Dammit. Can we trade him to Toronto now?

Ugh. I need to find a new team. This is disgusting.

It's a meh deal, he's a great 4th liner and he knows his role. Can't be mad for that.

Small, not fast, unskilled, poor at faceoffs and not that physical 4th line center for 2M for the next 4 years....

Not a big fan of the term since it will take him through age 32 but we all know Holland does that to get the AAV below $2 million. Not worth getting too worked up about, he's pretty far down the list of contracts that are going to weigh this franchise down in the coming years.

Good for him though.

He is physical. He is good at faceoffs. He is one of our quicker forwards. You realize he won 54.6% of his draws last year, which was best on the team right?

Luke Glendening is the least of our worries. The only issue with Glendening is he is used too much. His skillset is good for a 4th line checking player.

Exactly. And there isn't a prospect who's NHL ready who really ought to be in that role anyways. He's relatively cheap, he's relatively good at what he does, and he's not a lifelong roster plug. Hopefully Blash uses him properly next year.

Well he has been 52% in his career on faceoffs and is a good penalty killer and also a good 4th line center, Its an okay contract tad overpaid but not that bad. Matt Martin got 2.25 for 4 yrs so 1.8 isn't that bad compared to market value...

Eh. I don't like it. I know he's vital defensively, but does he deserve the same contract Abby had before his extension?

Glendening is not great at a lot of things but he's good at faceoffs. top 50 centermen since 2012 with 52.2%
