The author is partially vindicating Lou.
You are spinning what the author wrote to fit your narrative that Lou doesn't know what he is doing.
I wouldn't say that. Luck is the residue of design. However, there are variables at work that are beyond Lou's control when he selects a player. The coaching staffs at Albany and New Jersey have to do their best to extract maximum output from these draft classes. At the end of the day, Lou is ultimately responsible for the draft failures since he controlled all facets of the organization.
